I started up a computer i have and the graphics card needs to be replaced. It's a Dell Studio XPS 8000 i5 750@ 2.7 with an ATI Radeon HD 4350 ddr2. I need something mid range like a 6450 or something but i don't know if it can fit it. power supply was replaced it's now 450w. Sorry I'm real noobish when it comes to hardware.

first question, is it a small form factor or desktop case? if so, you'll have a hard time replacing it. If it's a standard tower, it should be OK, but don't count on it since dell don't like people upgrading computers they make

it's a desktop. the big white one. i just don't know how big the video card can be to fit in it. From the specs I've seen it does have x16 pci.

looks like that will take a full length card so basically any ati HD series should do. You probably want to look at the 6 or 7 series. 6850 is a good place to start
