:( seems i have been hit with the Google redirect virus that redirects all the links I click from google to random ad sites... I've ran Malwarebytes, had no results, ran Spybot, fixed all issues. Still I have the Redirect virus! What's wrong!! I have Windows XP SP3, Home Edition. If any of you can read HiJack Logs, please ask me to post one, i will PM or post here. yeah it sucks, i can't search anything with Google. I'm pissed, and any help will be appreciated :D.

i managed to get some sites that it redirects to, i advise you NOT click em, they might have spyware or such. seems at the end of the links are the stuff i type into google... this is weird

This says to make sure your Malwarebytes is up to date, run a scan, remove anything it comes up with, and then clean out your registry... It gives a link to a good registry cleaning program

    ...does it only affect google?

    www.altavista.com

That's what I always used before google became so easy to remember :)

(dumb suggestion, but thought it was worth a shot)

...Ouch, :/ that's what you get for going on porn :p

    Naughty! lol.

    Anyways, I suggest SUPERantispyware
The best freebie antispyware out, in my opinion. If this don't get it. Nothing will!!

    Sounded cool right? :p

    haha no need
I found this awesome site http://www.troublefixers.com/remove-virus-which-redirects-to-gogooglecom-gogooglecom-redirect-virus-removal-tool-for-windows/
that shows you how to get rid of it, but it seems that the virus mutated, so these ways doesn't work anymore, all you had to do is go on safe mode + networking and download Trojan Remover, and from there, it should be a smooth ride. :D

A browser hijacker cannot do this.

frankly, I have no idea what happened, but it seems that method worked out fine
I have no idea what's a browser hijacker, but from the words, I can probably tell that's something that infects your internet browser

also, just to know, if I used my USB to download an anti virus software, and then I use that USB on the infected computer, does it infect the USB too?

Depends entirely on the virus. If your USB has a switch on the side to set read only, then set it to read only before plugging it in.

but how would I know if it's infected or not?
    run a scan?

have you tryed useing normal anti-virus like avg?

    crazytuna Well-Known Member

Yeah, but I had to run Trojan Remover first, for AVG to run, cause the virus didn't let any Anti-Virus run
