Ok, here is the deal, my brother wrecked a brand new dvd.

There is a massive crack thru it, is there...anything I can do to salvage it?

I'd download but the little shit cant watch usb based movies from his usb for some reason, and I wish not to waste blanks because...

-His dvd player doesnt like the program I use to make a dvd with menus
-Not enough movies he wants to fill a dvd using the old copy and paste method
-I see no point considering he keeps DESTROYING THEM!

    It's the only solution.

Now SRSly, here's what you can do (I assume the DVD was his, not yours)

That disc CANNOT be saved without the cost for saving it exceeding the cost for its purchase in the first place, probly.

Don't let him handle ANY discs until he matures a bit, 1st of all.

Get your movie from where you will.

Download convertX to dvd http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/download-convertxtodvd.php and a serial for it if you think you'll be using it for a long time.

    Install it, etc.

Open the program and put the video file in there.

Convert and burn to a dvd.

I have NEVER met a player ConvertX doesn't like.

If your little bro complains that there aren't any of the stylish menus or shitty little DVD games, tell him it's his own fault for breaking the original and that he should be glad just to be able to see the movie.

EDIT: also, if you want more bang for your blanks you can always throw on some other shows, or maybe a coupla cartoons.

Ok, i have that program, but his portable dvd player doesnt let disc made with that work...EVEN MY PS3 RUNS THESE THINGS!

*sigh* And my dvd drive cant read the now fucked disc...and no tape to even try.

No door locks and too many to box and lock.

The only way to keep him out...is to move my ps3 out of my room >_<

Thanks anyway guys...I posted this out of rage.

You need to teach him whos boss.My brother once wound me up playing cards,so I took his head and smashed his face off the metal bed-frame.His front teeth were halved in length, and he had 15 years of trying to get his teeth fixed LOL.

if its his DVD then don't replace it. Just tell him its his own fault for breaking it.

The PS3 is a relatively high power DVD player for what it is. It should be able to read any properly burned DVD without any issue. If your PS3 can't read a burned movie, you screwed up.

My PS2 tends to not like to read burned DVD's, so I stopped trying. It starts fine and everything, but gets super choppy and horrible at high action scenes. I just don't put burned movies in their anymore.

Heh, perhaps you have a fat model or something earlier? My SPCH-90001 (superslim) has NO probs with burned DVDs.

I have that exact model of PS2, but mine suffered a little. Awhile back, my dogs went on a rampage and managed to rip down my PS2 and it slammed onto a hardwood floor topside down. It still seems to work perfectly, but maybe the laser was slightly damaged or knocked just far enough out of place that it can't properly read a burned DVD. Nothing else seems to have troubles with them except for our really old DVD player (got it in 2001 or something), so I'm not really sure.

As long as my PS2 plays games without damaging them though, I suppose it's still doing what it was made to do.

    Do nothing, let him suffer.

It will teach him to be careful.

I wish my little brotyher would trash a DVD or a game, so then he will learn that leaving them all over the place with no case is a bad idea >.>

I just banned him from my room from now to Feb 1st :)

That means no psp/ds games/ps2 games/dvd's at all!

    And ps3 is off limits.

I bought it...for both of us to share.

It's trilogy of the dead-HE RUINED DAWN OF THE DEAD D:

He ain't the only one, but who cares honestly...

I know this chap, I'd do the same in his case :D

    Original Trilogy or Remake?
If it's the Original then he needs to be dunked in a bucket of Lye (yay Spoony) and then set loose in the Dawn mall wired with a beeping pipe-bomb (yay L4D2).
If it was the Remakes then the only real loss is Dawn which is a pretty major one, but nothing compared to if it's the Original!

If you have a lot of land, build a hut with a door that can only be opened from the outside. Then, throw your brother in it to live, and bring him food and water every day.

It's the original, I bought the "remakes" (not even close to the originals), they still work...

Send me some cash to do so.
