For some reason, I haven't been able to log into Gmail lately.

I don't know the reason why, and my Gmail Notifier will sit there and "Check" email for a good hour or so before it says cannot connect.

is something up with Gmail right now? I know google loads instantaneously, but Gmail, I get connection time outs.

    Mozilla Firefox 3
    (I tried IE6 and it won't load).

No firewall, disabled Peerguardian2, no anti-spyware/virus crap that takes over your computer.

i checked the hosts file to see if anything Gmail related was in there and there wasn't.

i cleared all of the denied cookie requests in Firefox.

i cleared all of the cache and temporary saved crap in Firefox as well.
i allowed Noscript for both google and gmail.

and for some reason, i can't login on facebook either.
    maybe a coincidence?
    also a network timeout.

Hmm, I'll check if I'm logged in. Yep, I'm logged in.

I always keep myself logged in on Google, even though I don't use my Gmail, you can guess what email it is. I'll try signing out and then in again.

Hmm, I'm having time connection problems too, I enter my login details and it just says connecting, never Waiting or Transferring. Guess it's not just you that's having the problem.

Hmm, logging into Gmail works now, I just had to repair my connection and clear all the logs and DNS cache.

Just try going into Local Area Connection, click the Support tab, and click Repair. Might work.

i hit repair and no it didn't work.

i can get to the gmail page on my other computer but that's it.

i can get to the gmail page on both the ps3 and psp but can't login.

edit: do you think that DNS exploit might be my problem?

I haven't used windows update in a long time.

try ipconfig /flushdns in command prompt, but if you can access the site then I doubt its dns related.

wow i fixed it. and i feel retarded.

I had ports 5180, 443, and 8080 blocked on the ip 192.168. blah blah .4

I had blocked it just to screw with my sister whenever she would use the computer. (mostly just to block AIM. lol. she is on that way too much.)

figures, when i moved my laptop to the basement, it changed my ip to that one somehow.
maybe the other computer downstairs changed the ip to a different one like .2 or .3.

statically set your IP to a different one.

i tried putting my laptop on a static ip but that just resulted in me not having any internet and no access to the router.

thats because you used the wrong IP or subnet (or you forgot to set the default gateway/DNS settings). set the IP address to 192.168.y.xxx where 'y' is the same number that it currently is, and x is a a number of your choosing. Then select the subnet mask and it will be filled in for you. Then set the default gateway and DNS server addresses to the IP of your router.
