OK, we got lots of people worried about this. Environmentalists, the government, in fact the world, i fail to see the issue. I hate environmentalists because they cause more hassle to people's lives than it's worth, and there excuse is Global Warming and the Earth. I fail to see the issue with global warming, i think it's just an excuse for the government to overprice everything. Hasn't it happened before? Wasn't it going to happen anyway? Well, I'll let you debate about it anyway. I'm interested to note your opinions.
humans are vastly accelerating a natural process and it is causing the climate to change drastically in a much shorter period than it should
Yes but, if they are accelerating it can't that be seen as a positive aspect of our actions. If we accelerate it, it will save the trouble of Global warming for future generations, it's out of the way. But i do think it's an excuse for the government to overprice everything.
I disagree, scientists have said that the earth hasn't been this hot/whatever since a THOUSAND years ago. Did we have machinery like that a thousand years ago?
I said it happens naturally, it just takes a lot longer. humans are accelerating it this time around.
yup, global warming happen natrually, but it happen at a very slow rate, which allow the living this evole to adapte the changes. What human did right now is we speed up global warming so fast that living things cant adapte to the changes fast enough to survive the changes, in other word, human is going to cause another KT event IF nothing is done about it.
I think I skipped over that part... My bad. But anyways, now I have nothing that proves global warming doesn't exist.... Meh, Loony's too smart for me.
What? Things that speeds up Global Warming is massive CO2 emmissions from vehicles & factories & natural methane seeping from undr the earth's crust- excerpt from a DWTV Tomorrow Today episode.
in a way it does. i believe reading somewhere saying that cows and such produce a lot of methane (this was a long time ago so i forget the details)
Yep, them things sure do. Well, Charles Darwin sure got his facts right. I dont think it's going to be too serious in my lifetime. I mean we had bad rain here a few summers ago but that's the worst i've ever seen. It ain't been too bad since.
Being in the Tropics I can honestly say that the Earth Is indeed having an increase in heat temperatures. Twenty years ago I loved Summers, now even during the rainy seasons I can't stand mid-day heat. And we're getting less Rains during the monsoon, but when we do, we get super typhoons.
shouldn't that be the least of your concern. shouldn't you be more concerned on rather you'll have a land left after the increase in water levels?! i actually can't wait for global warming.
hmmm, in my opinion, global warming is natures way to adapt to the current situation. The earth is increasingly heating up to accomodate the growing human population. It is melting snows in the pole areas so that human can live in that harsh envirionment. Also, about the law of nature, the strong shall live and the weak shall die now applies. If the people affected in the coastline areas dont do something, they are weak and will surely die, but if they think of something to prevent it or to adapt to the current change, then they will live. I'm open for creative critism.
Way to scare me out... But how would global warming ultimately affect the climate change? I never connected those two together, does anyone mind if they can explain this phenomenon?
increase in temperature alters the pressure balance and the weather is controlled by shifting air pressure.
because temperature is proportionate to pressure, it should like make the stuff crazy? So even a tiny shift will change weather?
Not to mention the fact of our shrinking ice caps. I'm sure everyones seen the pictures of what the world would look like with that much water dumped into the ocean from the ice caps =p and yet Maximum humidity, air pressure, and wind are directly related to the temperature of the air, all of which are the main factors in creating storms. And in the Southern United States, we've seen crazier weather than ever in my life time. Earlier this year it was around 80 degrees in late winter, we had a round of tornados sweep the state, and that night it dropped to around 19 degrees. Not to mention the oscillating out of season temperatures and weather patterns =/
