Getting nesds and snes emulators going

Hey guys,

Sorry for another noob post, but I'm really stuck on this one. I'd like to get nesds and a SNES emulator running on my R4, and have tried everything.

Here's the deal:

I'm using an: R4 Upgrade Revolution for DS (software version 3.10 English) and a DS Lite

I've followed a variety of tutorials on the net, but nothing seems to work. I've don the dldi patching, putting roms into the proper directories, putting roms into the root, etc.

What's happened so far? Basically:

When running nesds I get my list of roms. I choose a rom, and the top screen remains blank, but the bottom screen will display the controls for nesds when touched with the stylus.

Any tips for running the emulators specifically for the R4 Upgrade Revolution?

Well, I managed to get the ROMs working, but save states don't seem to function.

Anybody get these to work with a setup like mine?

 

Save states won't work I believe. NesDS and SnemulDS should work fine.

 

The nesds seems to be running the roms fine, but as I mentioned, the save state function doesn't seem to do anything.
