Its not normal to make noises, mine is slow as hell to read though compared to my 360.

the noise is kinda like the disk spinning/shaking...it's like how the old PC disk drives made a clicking noise while reading...and at least the slowness is normal :p

Well it actually depends on what game you are playing. If you are laying SSBB or metroid prime trilogy, then it will make those noises since they are dual-layered discs. Besides those two, every other game loads faster and makes less noise.

hmmm...it seems to do it with all the games i've tried...most are on DVD-R's...ToS:DotNW, SSMB(like you mentioned) pokèmon battle revolution...they all make the noises...

I think for the most part its normal, mine "hums" when playing discs, but I don't notice anything when playing off a USB loader.

Its just probably trying to implode, nothing to get excited over but remember to stop, drop and roll if things do get out of hand and have a planned escape route.

Hmm...I am going to have to agree with you on that, of course its never truly off it's just in stand by you could unplug the power to get it to shut up.

The thing is, WHAT did I do wrong? I did everything by your guide.

I only post links to guides. I don't have a full modding guide. :p
I also recommend using Pimp My Wii if you want the latest IOS' and other goodies for a full mod. And make sure most of your IOS' are bugged with the Trucha Bug.
