Hey guys, I am new(er) to ubuntu, and as I hear, gdesklets is very popular. However, the installation process has been confusing, and doesn't work (and yes I know how to install a program through the command line). After I tried typing in the code in terminal, I wouldn't get anything and looked online. I got about five different results, or codes to install gdesklets, and 4/5 of them didn't work, saying that the packets were not linked or something like that. The fifth one did, and once the installation was completed, nothing happened (though I am fairly sure I didn't download a virus because it camefrom a reputable site, and others posted replies saying it worked). Thanks, gameace
Which version of Ubuntu are you using? Using package manager uninstall gdesklets. Now, if the website has a source or repo for gdesklets, put that into your computer. Sorry, but I forgot how... But anyways, after you do that, go into software manager and download gdesklets. Gdesklets may not be compatible with your version of Ubuntu, or GNOME for that matter.
