Name: Metroid: Prime Developed: Retro studios Published: Nintendo Genre: Action & Adventure,First-person shooter,Platformer Platform: Nintendo Gamecube Nintendo Wii (Only with a Gamecube controller) Review: Story: Metroid Prime's story is told through a little amount of cutscenes and lots of text, but that does not change the fact that it is told beutifully done. Samus Aran is an intergalactic bounty hunter raised by a race of birdlike aliens named the Chozo (not related to the pathogen called Chozogrigan Ganus). Who built her a suit of Armour built with a beam gun and a battle and scan visor both upgradable, who is on a hunt to kill off a evil race of Alien-insects called Space pirates. Who have escaped down to Talon IV (planet. A planet is a large Gas or Earth sphere. It might be silicone or otherise). Samus Aran must now hunt them down. Bang! Bang! shoot that beam baby! Gameplay: As samus Aran you are equiped with 4 types of Visors (All 3 must be aquirred first) and 4 Beam weapon (Again all 3 must be aquirred) she also has mulitiple missles that she uses to kill some enemeis. In the metroid prime world you will have to jump on to platformes or across chasms. You can shoot enemies or machines with you're weapon and open doors. Soom doors require certain beams to be used. You can select the type of Beam weapon you wish to use by moving the c-stick in the direction you choos. Aswell as Beams there are Visors you can use such as the battle visor which alows you to use weapons and see how many missiles are in stock. The scan visor alows you to read monitors or scan enemies or scan certain objects. The thermal visor sets everything in a heat mesuring enviroment. You can increase you're health tank or missile stock by gathering items, which are uselly hard to get because they our built up on dangeros areas. Samus can also transform into a morph ball which upgrades aswell lets you rool into small places set off a bomb or rool up a half-pipe. Are you my mommy sheegoth ? Presentation: The graphics is something that is quite breathtaking everything has detail put to it. The power suit on Samus is very shiny and looks pretty good. Enemies look good and with many on the screen there is no slow down in it. There's a neat water effect in the Phendrana Drifts. When samus moves here arm to aim it looks kind of klunky but then again she is in some heavy armor. This is Samus Aran from Metroid Prime 3:Corruption a diffrent game from the wii I show you this because this is the only image of samus that wasn't fuzzy. Musical score: The musics not really that good its mostly ominous stuff not soundtrack material. However I llike the magmoor cavers as it adds a bit of fantasy to it. "I KILL YOU! LIKE I KILLED YOU'R FARTHER" said samus "But he's at home" weird aliean Overrall : Metroid prime is a good game there are only two flaws but that okay. Combat gives you the edge over you're enemies with 4 diffrent beams. There are some good puzzles require some reading though but at least it gives some tactical approach to gory FFPS. Story: 7/10 Gameplay: 9/10 Presenation:8/10 Musical score: 4/10 Overr all:9/10 Total: 37/50
Re: [GC] Metroid Prime By Girogex There are a little grammatical errors in this, but I was able to make out your thought processes. A few run on sentences, but those can easily be solved with a period or comma. All in all, nice first review. If you plan on doing more in the future, please put some more information in the body of the review.
Re: [GC] Metroid Prime By Girogex super missles can be combined with the beam attack to get a better version of the beam special attack. if you use the purple [wave beam] and combine it with the super missles, you'll get a beam that thethers to your enemey. each beam has it's own effect and abilities. you get lost a lot because it's no longer a simple 2d metroid but a 3d fps metroid. i hated the map but it fits the concept of the game. it is truly metroid in 3d, they have made a good transition of the game from 2d to 3d fps. i hope they do go back to 3d but into third person then first person. the music is subtle and fits the moody adventure that the game has come to represent. when you engage in a fight, the action music kicks in like in any other game.
Re: [GC] Metroid Prime By Girogex Nice review. I had this game for the Gamecube. I spent more time on this one game than all of my other GC games combined. I thought the music in the game was very suiting. Phendrana Drifts was calm and soothing, And the theme in Magmoor Caverns was a rehash from the Norfair level in Super Metroid. But all in all, an awesome game from start to finish.
Re: [GC] Metroid Prime By Girogex I think grammatical errors can be forgiven... English isn't everybody's first language...
Re: [GC] Metroid Prime By Girogex Some of us have a hard time with it even though it IS our first language......lol ;D
