I just d/led a GC iso, burned it to a mini dvd-rw. My GC doesn't see a disc. Is there something i need to do to get the GC to see the disc?

    Thanks for your help.

Is your gamecube modded at all?

Consoles cannot play backup games without being modified. They have anti-piracy detection in them to stop you from doing stuff like this :)
(with the exception of the Dreamcast, I believe).

Wasn't there some special way you had to burn off GC games anyway, or am I just dreaming that I read that somewhere?

You can make a virtual drive using Daemon Tools or Alcohol.

You will need to either mod your gamecube or mod a Wii.

About burning GC games, it's as simple as putting the .gcm or.iso on imgburn and burning to a Mini-DVD for Gamecube or Normal DVD-R for Wii.

Not going to mod the wii, the kids would kill me. I guess I will be on a hunt for a gamecube again. Thanks for the info.

Your kids would kill you? Because of all the Wii games you could then give them? :p

They don't like me messing with their consoles they try to claim. I don't know what i am doing and would mess it up and so forth. Yet nothing gets said about doing DS case mods or PSP firmware changes here and there of course those are mine. :p

Those don't work with wii/gc games-requires the emulator to read them directly.

    They don't recognise them-special format.

I was surprised how much easier to burn them than to rip them XD

Yes agreed. When I first got into the Gamecube scene, I couldn't beleive that all I needed was normal blank DVD-R's and imgburn.

I've now become a pro at ripping Gamecube games, but for the average Joe, ripping Gamecube games is by far much harder than burning PS1 or PS2 games for example.
