I have been looking at this guide so I can play Gba roms on a Psp,and I have a few questions

    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/670970

It says I need cfw with a 3.xx kernel.I have cfw 5.00m33-6,so does that mean it wont work.If it doesnt,is there anything out there that works with 5.00m33-6.

The GBA Emulator should work fine with your PSP. 5.00M33-6 has 3.xx kernel anyway. So you got no problems.

Good luck. The GBA emulator for PSP is one of the best Emulators for PSP. It's so call that a current Generation portable console can emulate a console that only died 3 years ago.

You put the Emulator Program in the PSP - Games right ?
Put the Roms in the PSP and all you need to do is find them and play.

Cheers, that has worked. The first guide didnt say properly where to put the stuff.

Everything is ok apart from 2 x games wont start/play.I get a white screen freeze with one-so I need to hold in the power button for 10 seconds to get out of it-theres a popping noise and the console switches off.The other games makes a "grinding noise" and theres a black screen.

It was Spongebob-The movie, and some Postman Pat game.Ive deleted both so its not a problem. It gives the bairn an option,so Im happy as I didnt know I could get Gba to play on Psp.

    cheers

Which exact emulator (as in version and exact name) are we talking about?

The one you might be running if it's saying a 3.XX kernal is needed..might be an outdated version.

Ive tried all the permutations and its still the same. The problem games are the ones that when you start them, you get a quick white screen, then the Gameboy coloured writing-I think its the Gameloft type.....

All the other types of games seem to work

N.B Mds,it was that emulator I used in that guide.I got that .bin file off TPB.

Soem games are incompatible, but I personally thought it was the version your using-the link I gave was to versions that needed 5.XX kernal-the 3.XX are outdated.

I tried the newer link you said with both .bin files I got and the Gameloft types didnt play. The menu is better/easier in the earlier emulator,so Im happy...
