    support or refuse

as for me i support this theory because i believe that teamwork in real life can be nurtured by playing games
and i believe those world changing games can really change the world

Team work in video games doesn't compare to real life team work UNLESS it's with the same group of people, example...

    3 mates in halo-DEADLY!

    Same people in laser tag-DEADLY!

They are in tune with each other, know their movements, understand how each will react and of course, known each other for so long, team work works best IF your already intune with the other's in your group, unlike video game co-op where you have to think for yourself, guess and ultimatly get left behind rank wise.

In real life it's harder, sure you can talk to each other without stupid mikes (and actually see them) but if you never worked together it won't work...least not straight away.

I'm an anti social gamer, sure I'll co-op with anyone, but I work as an individual, I might kill someone your taking on or snipe the sniper aiming for you, but I tend to take my time, collect everything, or run head first into the fray while the rest of the team sits together and snipes (in the end I end up getting the big kill XD)

Though cant team games sorta help with real life strategies and if their realistic enough it could help u know the possible outcome...

of course they can,, like if you work at mcdonalds, you can think of your modern warfare 2 strategy so you and the other workers can rush over the counter and attack the customers before they attack you.

this is a hard one to answer, there are so many different parties with vested interests in video games being perceived in certain ways for their own reasons, and so much fud being spread around its very difficult to get to the bottom of it.

Just so's you know, we're not all antisocial gamers. I spent almost two years with my guild in Guild Wars and played with dozens of people over that time. Getting in tune with your teammates (especially in PvP) is far more widespread than "lone wolf" people who inevitably get left behind. I learned way more playing monk (healer, standard teams have two) with a couple of partners over time than I did playing freelance.

Anyway, team work in video games is exactly the same as teamwork in the real world. It's just that people don't seem to be able to make the connection between the two. And for the record, me and two other dudes who I sometimes play Halo with (I don't like FPS) are fucking terrible at it, but we're excellent in laser tag.

Not real life strategies per se, but team games do aid in the development of abilities that are relevant in the real world. I've picked up a couple of speed assessment and prioritisation tricks from my time in high-end PvP. Not to mention the ability to kick back and forget about any fuckups that may have lost us a match. You learn things in gaming, sure, it's just knowing what you learn and how to apply it to your life that's the trick.

=O they are making games that have real life scenarios so gamers can team up to try and solve the problems

If territorial disputes can be settled by just playing Call of Duty instead of sending out actual (living) troops to end a war, why not?

But considering the way things are, something like that might not happen.

On the other hand, videogaming has gained positive public acceptance ever since gaming is now considered an actual Profession & that team based games now have actual cyber athletes who get endorsements, sponsorships & pay for doing what the cyber athlete loves doing most.

YOU'RE WRONG IT'S ALL THE GAMES! You may not have noticed, but the most hardcore gamers commit the least amount of violent crimes in any demographic.

so people that go to school have less chance in life than someone who didn't go to school?

    So...we don't need school?

I may be anti social, but that's because of the BS in life AFTER school, I had close friends, I learnt stuff we all need (liek how 2 spel) and how to socialize.

    Did you go to school?

I haven't killed anyone yet....I have hurt but no deaths :p

Wow...you guys are serious.....I don't think that video games can create a better world...they're entertainment....there's always going to be a competition and if your life is changed by a game...you need some outside time ;-)

games are mostly destructive. they can ruin lives. i know that i would be doing a lot better at school if video games didnt exist. they are a very good procrastination aid.

Some people see games as a form of entertainment, or a way to have fun with friends or family.
Others are "Just one more level" kind of people
    And some don't play games.

how do you nurtured team work when 99.99% people only are fill with n00bs who feel the need to talk like sailor and t-bag to stroke their electronic-ego?

If you want to nurtured team work, join a group sport like basketball, football or volleyball.
