What does it do in the DSi? Does the card run at all?
What firmware is your DSi on? (Look at the bottom of the top screen).

Does your R4i say "1.4" on the package?

Turn on your DSi, without the R4i in it, and look at the bottom of the top screen, there will be a number, like 1.3 or 1.4 on it. What is that number.

Are you using the same card for both DS and DSi, or does she have one and you have one? (Do you own just one, or do you have two?)

Ok. So her card is different from yours. I thought maybe you were bouncing the same card back and forth, and it would work in yours but not hers.

Does her card start, does the problem only happen when you try to play games?

Well yes, it's best to make changes to the rom names while on a pc.

But I don't remove the games from the cart, I edit them from the sd card.

I haven't much else to add since I have no experience with r4 carts...to difficult to bother with compared to my idiot proofed acekard(s) :)

Has this always done it, or is this something that recently started happening?

Try backing up your games, saves, and firmware, and formatting the MicroSD, then putting all the files back on the card.

First take the MicroSD out of your card and connect it to your computer.
Then copy all the files from your card to a folder on your desktop (easier spot).
Then right click on the MicroSD can choose "Format"
Press OK and it will start.
Once done, copy all the files from the folder on your desktop back onto your MicroSD.
Then put it back in your card and try again.
