I'm very new to downloading games but have successfully downloaded and installed quite a few onto my sons ds.... not bad for an old broad :-\ anyway....

I've downloaded and installed a few games that I can't get to run... cake mania 2 is one of them. When I start the game on the ds I get a message about not being able to open the saved data and to turn the ds off and insert the cartridge....

I've tried deleting the cache etc and re trying, but not had any success

    I'm using an R4 2Gb card.

any ideas would be very much appreciated

Hiya you might need to update the infomation/firmware on the card, check out the official site for instructions and latest firmware http://r4ds.cn/download/r4_v1.18_kernel.html, this should sort out your problems
    :) Good Luck

I'm sure this question has been asked and answered many times... but please bare with me as I'm new to this. When I bought my R4 the shop put the operating system on for me (the _system_ & moonshl directories) this was the V1.4 version.

I went to the link to get the v1.18 but what do I do from there? Do I need to remove my _system_ & moonshl directories and replace them with whatever comes with the v1.18 download. Do I need to remove all my games on the card before doing this. A step by step runthrough would be great. I saw a video on you tube of exactly how to install the op system but lost the link, if anyone has it can they send the link.

    Thanks
    Tracey

Yeah, but you can just place the new firmware files (which are the same filenames as your current firmware) straight onto your MicroSD, and overwrite them. Same process, although this way is a bit easier.

Thank you very very much. I figured it out and now everything (games included) work perfectly.
