I've just finished playing 999 and it was only the best game ever.

I'm really sad that its over so could anyone recommend any similar games? I've started playing Ghost Tricks but it just doesn't compare. I really enjoyed playing Ace Attorney, Prof. Layton etc...so I'm looking for a problem solving game with a bit of horror.

    Thanks!

    -For Ds...sorry ^^

Have you played Shadow Gate for the Nintendo 64? I dunno if you would consider that problem solving or something else, but I consider it Problem solving...sort of.

Well...like 999. It was a really good horror game with a reaaaallly good story. Lots of twists. Just wondering if there are any more out there...???

Well here is a complete list of Nintendo DS Puzzle games courtesy of GameFAQs. Unfortunately I can't find a "Visual Novels" sub category so you're just going to have to wade through the entire list & find games that you'd like.

It's not for the DS, but if you have a iPod Touch or iPhone, DEFINITELY get Cause of Death; the first "Volume" is free and the story gets you incredibly hooked. Chance of dying? Yup. Mystery? Definitely. Cliff-hangers? You bet. Plot-holes? I thought so - and then they addressed them and it led into Volume 2 if you want to start getting answers to that!

You can also play a few side-stories as a) side-characters, or b) your own creation. The "own creation" isn't very customizable, but it has multiple endings, which is fun for sure!

I know you asked for DS, but my god, I HAD to put this out there; it's by EA Games, and chances are you can probably find it ripped for the PC somehow. The music reminds me greatly of 999, too, which is always fun. XD

Lemme know if this helps anyone out; I think I found this game by chance and everyone who likes this genre as I do that I've spoken to (and they all have iPhones) have never heard of it. New episodes are released weekly; pretty awesome.

I was wondering the same thing.

Btw, did you get all the endings? I only managed to get 2 :U
