Discussion in 'Gaming Lounge' started by caroline221289, Nov 12, 2008.

  1. hi, my nephew is 5 years old, he can't read so wondered if anyone knew any good games he could play on the nds? we've been on incredibles, transformers, TMNT, spiderman ect but they are all too hard for him to play so he gives up and goes on another one, anyone have any idea?

The "I did it mum" game is pretty good. I haven't tried the boy version, as I have 2 girls. There is an "I did it mum 2" now as well, which might be worth trying.

Go with the Basics like New Super Mario Bros. or Puzzle games like Tetris or Bust-a move.

Those are awesome suggestions. It seem like long gone are the days of just being able to pick up a game and play it without having read all the way through it.

Sports games are good too. You may be able to find pinball or a basketball game in the rom section as well. Sorry I don't know specific names as I don't have a DS.

did you try elite beat agent?
give them princess peach. the problem here is that it may be for girls. i played it and it was pretty easy or maybe it was i who was more advance in playing games and have out grown those type of low to medium difficult level games.

5 year olds tend not to make a distinction.

    Pictoimage.

Play it with the kid. He tells you what the picture is. You type in the words. You can also teach him how to read - bonus!

Another one to try is Crayola Treasure Adventures - it is a digital coloring book that has over 100 different pictures to color with simple "adventures" to unlock extra colors. The adventures are mini games such as connect the dots, jig saw puzzle and speed coloring to earn rewards of bonus crayons and pictures...
