games for 3 year olds.........

im buying a ds for my son for his 3rd bday ok i know i am crazy but am sick of the fights with him and 7 yo daughter......he can play diego africa one real easy with no help....any other ideas???????...................

 

Give him a game like New Super Mario Bros., I don't know any little kid that wouldn't have fun playing that.

 

Everything with donkey kong, super mario, kirby.
And maybe cooking mama if he can understand the commands.

 

Animal crossing might work as well.

 

Animal crossing is just a little on the mature side.
It would be difficult for him to be engaged by a game with no real aim.

I second this, I got pretty far in that game when I was around that age (the one for SNES I mean) without any help
Also try letting him play some racing ones, they're usually easy.

 

those jake power firefighter/policeman/handyman are pretty fun my youngest son loves those

and mariokart he likes that to

 

Funny that LEGO was mentioned as I was going to recommend the LEGO Indiana Jones and LEGO Batman games

 

those are pretty hard for a 3 year old...

 

Well, I dont know about that, I mean exploring, collecting stuff, seems like what 3 year olds would do. But from my experience, when I was 5 I think, played the microgenius, the console that still used cartridges and played arcade games. Sucked so bad at it that would at times throw a tantrum. But whatever you know, he might be a hardcore 3 year old gamer. =/

 

Maybe simple games such as:

Wario Ware: Touched
Yoshi Touch and Go
Mario Kart
New Super Mario Bros.
Super Princess Peach


But still for a 3 year old... :-\, I do think you're crazy.

 

ok thanx all and i still know i am crazy...lol..but..he is a smart kid and he needs things that challenge him or he gets too bored and cranky btw his not 3 til end of october...haha....and yes his sister has lots of lego sets and he loves that too....but when his sister is playing the ds and not him thats when hell breaks loose.....so yes I need him too have one.....lmao....i am guessing he is going to be a hardcore gamer just like mummy........haha.

 

Was also just wondering, you are getting him a DS but you are not going to get a flashkart? If you are then pretty much you can just try every single game on romulation and see what he likes best.

 

i'm getting a r4 ds revoloution thingy? Is that the same? If it works (i'm sure it will) i'm going to buy the kids one each. my daughter will be sooooo excited.......cant wait to try it.......

 

Like a owner of R4 I can say its pretty good. At the same time I dont recommend it.

Its just that the R4 isnt "updated" anymore. So you may want to spent some more time looking around for a better (and still updating) FlashCard.


About games, at the 3 years old no matter what you give him he will probaly not beat the game soon. I remenber having fun starting a new game every time when I was younger.

So yes, New Super Mario Bros its good.
Mario Kart too.

Pokemon is classic, and pretty simple game.

 

what should i be looking for? I have no idea i only found out a couple of days ago that you can do this.......
