One thing I've been wondering of late is why the file sizes on the ds games are so different. Most of them are 64mb and 128mb but I've seen one, Kingdom Hearts, that is 256mb. What I'm wondering is, if they're going to make a new game wouldn't they want to work with as much space as they could? I mean Animal Crossing is only 64mb, if they would've used 256mb for that game I would probably still be playing it, heaps of more items, charaters and other stuff. Anyone know why this is?
It's not like the cart size stopped them from adding more content to the game. They made their game, then when they were done they fit it on the smallest card that could hold their game.
They would risk a much higher game size if they knew that their game would be successful or a long-running game like Final Fantasy. Just as we don't buy games if we don't find it over-the-top and keep downloading ROM.
1) the cartridge dimension is not always 256, 64, 128 you can trim the Rom if you want 2) the dimension sometimes is bigger because the game has lot of music and video
