Just rename the .sav filed to same name as the rom.
for example if the rom, is named as "pkmnb2.nds" , the sav should be named "pkmnb2.sav"

It could also be possible his system setting are .nds.sav

for example if the sav file is like this Cooking Mama (E).SAV then you just change it to this before transfer Cooking Mama (E).nds is that right?
also I copied both the sav file and the nds file before but the sav didn't work so that means if you want to transfer the game just transfer the sav file but just rename it to .nds

You are right, some carts does have a multiple save file extension option to choose from. Try checking your R4's START menu, see if there is an option to change the extension to .sav. Especially those that run WOOD has such feature, thus would require you to check both the R4's and the WOOD's START menu settings.

    Joel16 covered this the best.
Simply rename the save file to the same name as the NDS one.

So... if it's 'b-pkmnb2.nds' then the save file should be 'b-pkmnb2.sav'.
If it's .SAV there should be no problems.

Also, as prectorian said, if they're .nds.sav, then you'll need to either change the settings of the firmware (if available or change the file extensions. There's a handy little program that'll do that on Filetrip.

For settings, it's pretty easy. If you're using AKAIO or Wood R4, then just go into settings and find the little box with the save file settings. Easy as pie.
