game music while nds is shut ( sleep mode)

Earlier today I was at the store, I shut my nds lite and the music kept playing.this isnt really a bad thing, but id like to know how this is done, assuming that this wasnt a weird fluke or something.

 

it depends on what game it was which one was it ?

 

the game was jump ultimate stars. its happened a few times in the past (past as in years ago) but i never really knew what caused it.Are there specific games that let you do this??

 

I don't know if it was the game, or rather that game lacking the ability to actually enter sleep mode. The only things I know of that can play music in a sleep mode state are all homebrew.

 

its happened wit actual nds games as well.i guess it was just a fluke.

no,its happened atleast twice on every ds ive owned.that even includes the phat model

 

Then It is normal....

 

ive owned each ds for a minimum of 8 months and out of that time its usually happened twice.so lets just say its very rare and im the only person that seems to have realized it and (or) it has happened to.
