The Full Metal Alchemist anime is absolutely the best anime ever made ...I watched it a LOT...The games are also cool...Naruto style fighting.The movie was ok but it was too bad that Edward didn't mary Winry or something ...There sure was some chemistry goin' on :-X VIVA FMA

original is the ORIGINAL
and brotherhood is based on the manga
there are major differences..
but i cant say what, because i made it to ep 5 of brotherhood and i didnt even read it..

 

There are different Storylines between the manga and the 1st anime after the fight with Creed.
The brotherhood follow the story of the manga instead making an riginal story.

 

Yes, Brotherhood is far superior to the original series as it is an almost direct recreation of the manga.
