ok, soon i'm planning on getting DDR to play on my ps3 (old 80gb). i've been looking around the internet, and straight up buying a compatible dance mat is about as expensive as some of the soft->hard conversions. anyways, my idea is to buy a piece of plywood or see if we have any around the house, cut it to the right size, chisel a place for the extra stuff at the top, take apart the 3 basic layers of the mat (top, pads, rubber), then screw the pads onto the wood, clue the rubber to the bottom, maybe some tape for the top layer, and then packing/duct tape all around the sides. have any of you done anything similar and had success?
