    Hi Romulation,

It's been a while since I've been on the forum so I'm not sure if this is the right place but anyway. I have a PSN account (for my PSP) already but I may be buying a PS3 next weekend. If I sign in with that PSN account on my new PS3, do I get the 2 free games for my PS3?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes but not the other way around.

I'm sure Sony would be able to track if you've played a PS3 with that account before, if not, enjoy the free stuff.

Ah. I'll get my mate (who's got a PS3) to log in to my account and see if he can download them (or at least start). But it doesn't look like I'll be getting one. 'Rents aren't letting me :(

im pretty sure you can't log into other peeps' accounts now, sony stopped it for security reasons (and people were getting free map packs), or at least that's what they told me in an email

I would've just called you retarded for the way you worded your initial post, but I decided to answer it. Do me the respect of reading my response.

Source please. I doubt Sony would stop game sharing since it's like the only way to get your games back if your hard drive breaks. I think you may be referring to the mandatory password change that can only be done by either logging into the PS3 to which the account has been first activated or by answering some personal related questions about your ID. I've gotten no e-mail about Sony getting rid of game sharing.

I got my friend to log in to my PSN account that I made with my PSP and he said I can download the free games. He said everything works fine and that I'm now level 5 in COD with a 1.67 KDR. Not that I care but hey, free kills :D

You think sony would really care if your HDD breaks?
Also, you know very well that that's not what people use it for. People use it to get free downloads from friends.

    Are you fucking kidding me?

For a console that has easy to replace HD, downloading the same thing with the same account is a god send. Combined with that if you share your content with friends you actually end up hurting yourself in the process, if your PS3 breaks (it can happen) you won't be able to re-download your content if you shared that piece of content among 4 friends. You can only download the thing 5 times on different consoles/hard drives. After that it won't let you play the full version.

Xbox Live has a similar process but it can be shared among two people with nearly no negative consequences.

Honestly getting rid of game sharing is something that shouldn't be on Sony's agenda. Considering it's probably the most similar thing to letting a friend borrow a game until he's done with it. And in the end, game sharing just hurts yourself in the process.

I also got no source of this and no e-mail concerning Sony enforcing a stricter DRM.

Sony advertise the hard disk as user replaceable for a reason...

Is this like the iTunes thing where you can only sync an account 5 times on 5 different computers? It's such a pain and I hate how I lose all my stuff if I plug my iPod into another computer (if I wanted to transfer songs). Apple really needs to get over that. If people wanted the songs so badly, it's not that hard to illegally download them (just saying). Back to PS3. I can see how people might do that to get free DLC and whatnot, but my mate's got 3 PS3s in his house (one for him, one for his sister, one for his dad). I don't know if he's synced all of them but that'd take a chunk out of that five PS3 limit.

It's not the account, it's how many times you downloaded that thing on that account.

I'm pretty sure if you sign in on iTunes on somebody else's computer it uses one of your five thingos. You don't actually have to download something. Try it. It should prompt you if you want to continue.

    I meant on PSN.

I'm not familiar with using iTunes on other computers as I only use it on one.
