This is just an idea, but I think you should try and gather some of your more graphically tallented forumers and make a custom Romu theme for the forum. The plain smf theme is just... well it just doesn't make me feel involved with romu as I could be. Take G-Masters for example, they had a kick ass forum theme that I felt really lifted up the whole forum.
G-Masters theme sucked, it was entirely too dark and depressing. Different taste is awesome huh? As I said the last time this came up. SMF developers (the forum guys) are currently working on a new theme that will make it much easier to create new ones and we're not going to do anything until that one is done.
