I am newer than a noob. That said, it would be nice if there were one tutorial that covered the basics from start to finish. i.e. GETTING STARTED ---------------------- So you want free games for your DS. -Technical terms, jargon explained (here). (i.e. what is ROM, .RAR, YSMENU, TTMENU, etc. and there purpose) Start: -1st you'll need to buy this, this and this. (i.e. Best card(s) on market, places to buy, differences in types of DS adapters, etc.) -Next do this. (i.e. Put that thingy in this, then do ....). -Then download this and this. (i.e. kernel, winrar, etc.) -Finally check that card is working by (inserting, in adapter, turn on game, results should be this?). Locate games: -create account on romulation. -go to romulation.net/downloads/ds -d/l games -use winrar, etc, to extract -copy files here. -do this and this -place card in ds -enjoy I realize much of this info is scattered throughout this site, but to locate it all and put it all in perspective, can be daunting. Ive read several tutorials and have got the basics, but still don't know what YSMENU and such are for, etc. A beginners guide that covered all this would be very helpful to me and those after me, who still haven't been introduced to ROMS as of yet. Thanks for the games, ROMS for Life
Welcome and enjoy! To be honest I had no idea what you were talking about besides you being a noob.....
They're suggesting a bunch of stuff that can be self-taught. I had to learn just about everything on my own, especially Wii Modding. I don't see why there should be a special section for new people, when new people should be more than capable of figuring stuff out on their own. But a centralization of data would be kinda nice...but not necessary in my eyes. There is a search bar for a reason.
This is why we're starting the wiki mentioned in the news. We do not have time to create all this content so instead we're going to empower our users to make it happen.
The whole idea of a wiki is that anyone can edit it...And yes, that includes regular grunts like you.
