For HG and SS could you buy the pokewalker and not have to pre order the games

Well i got a cyclo (EPIC) i love it and i know that they can connect to it when HG SS comes out and i wanna download em but i want a pokewalker since i walk to high school and i was thinking can you buy them not with the games?

 

you need the actual game catridge for the pokewalker.

 

Why would you need the game cart?

The rom is and exact copy of the original game cart.

 

The Pokewalker(pedometer) is a physical thing, just having the rom will not do it, you need to own the actual Pokewalker as well. And I'm unsure if you are able to buy it separate, try Ebay.

 

Well....is there a special device in the original cartridge that detects the Pokewalker or something?

If not, then it should work on the rom with a flash cart.

 

Because the game cartridge has i think infrared or something i think

 

I have read a few articles and the only instance of anything being infrared is the gameplay between friends with each others pokewakers.

From what I have read, you transfer your pokemon via "wirelessly" to your pokewalker from your game.

in order for you to have pokewalker you must buy the games.
I know it's nintendos sneaky way of forcing Pirates to buy the game lol but you could just buy and resale the game like I plan on doing.

Go and buy the games and pick up your Special pre-ordered Ho-oh, lugia figures
step 4
open up the games and remove the pokewalkers XD
step 5
look at the cashier and tell them you wanna sell the games back.
step6 go home with your new pokewalkers and Ho-oh and lugia figures lOl!


I might end up selling the other pokewalker if both of them are the same.
EXample theres a pokeball one and a masterball one.

Communication between a Pokéwalker and a Nintendo DSi with HeartGold or SoulSilver

Coming bundled with the games themselves, the Pokéwalker's most important means of communication is with a copy of Pokémon HeartGold or Pokémon SoulSilver. The Pokéwalker synchs with the time on the Nintendo DS system it links with. As long as a Pokémon is on the Pokéwalker, the specific game it came from is locked to that Pokéwalker, and will only send back to the same save file.

eh I rather sell it, but I found out that bestbuy is giving away the figures sooner then expected, so now I'm thinking about either selling back my heartgold game or just pre-order at bestbuy and ditch the game when they call my from best buy.
however, I'm not sure if the pokewalker will be in two different forms, and i'm hoping it's only gonna be the pokeball one and not the masterbaall one.

The games have a inferred censor, to detect the Pokewalker, that's why the game cartridges are dark than any other DS game, and flashcart can't connect to the Pokewalker.
