[Fix] Translated (J) rom of Heart Gold and Soul Silver, actually works!

A few minutes ago someone on GBATemp finished his translation of the (J) rom of HGSS.

Everything seems to be translated properly, except for the game corner and a few buttons.

sorry for my last post.. and yeh.. it actually works.. uhmm its sort of japanese rom patched and translated modified.. 30+ positive players said its working.. and its increasing..were from GBAtemp

I can confirm this works on an R4 SDHC with frimware 1.18b

I have not tried on my original R4 but will do later!

The pre-patched Soul Silver rom is finished uploading! Editing the first post now!

Also I haven't tested the Soul Silver rom myself, so please check if it works.

And ace1o1, I've tested the Heart Gold rom on my DSTT, and it didn't freeze after going in and out of the cherrygrove pokemon center for about 5 minutes straight.

i've got a R4 clone with v. 3.11
dont know what my flashcart exactly is
but it works without freezing.
i was running through doors about
50 times and no blackscreen

 

No it does not freeze after any number of events..

 

Okay now.. this is a japanese rom.. has no errors balckscreen death or freeze.. its AP free. we just translatted it and modified so its playable for mean while.. and wait for the US Fix..

so im completely positive its working.. done agter 25 events

I'm not sure, but that's what I have seen on Gbatemp..

The dialog of the NPCs in the Game Corner should still be in Japanese because that wasn't in the American rom. It will probably be translated in the next version.

 

It is genuine. i have been playing for 15 mins and no freezes.
But there have been a couple of freezing reports after about an hour or so.

 

Thats just the random freeze, every game has this chance.

 

Sorry for the newby question...but does that mean a .sav from the USA version will work with a JP version, as long as you rename it exactly ? I'm thinking no..but asking just to clarify.

 

You're right!

I'm playing on these patched roms right now with the English save files.

Also, it seems that the trainer card is still partly Japanese, but that's not really a major issue. I'll just upload the v2 roms when the patch is updated.

The pokedex is also still half-Japanese, but hey, it's still playable, right?

 

Another Question. Can anyone else get the cheats to work ? Mine don't come up for me..I'm using R4-III + YsMenu (as multimedia). I've edited my usercheat.dat for the game to come up at the top of the list.. Then again, it did say at GBAtemp that the cheats will only work on a clean rom. That's probably the reason.
