The new Beta is out! : DDD I've had very few problems with this (Using it on my laptop) So tell me /Romu/ What do you think about this? Here's a screenie But then, it can also look awful (my install to the desktop, which had to be reverted to 3.6 to make this thread) Spoiler
first pic is fine, but the second one is pretty fucked up, i helped do a bit of graphical work on 3.6....but i doubt i wanna be part of 4.0....
The new UI hasn't been introduced to the Linux version yet, so so far Firefox 4 isn't all that exciting. It is faster than the 3.X branch, but still not as fast as Chrome. I do like the new feedback system though.
not liking it that much, it still has a slow start up compared to opera and chrome and the menu bar is ugly. it's like a combination of opera, chrome, and the stratas40 theme for firefox with an ugly twist.
I kinda like it, I suppose, the bookmarks toolbar is broken in it, and Prowlers looks slick @Nevon, I read some of the linux feedback and it seems to be a bit slower than the 3.6x series, but since I only run windows (I have a moderate experience with ubuntu) I wouldn't completely know, what version of linux are you using?
I'm running Ubuntu 10.04. I didn't do any benchmarks though. It just felt subjectively faster. It could have been because I wasn't using any addons (whereas in 3.X I was using 10 or so).
Oh, okay, I understand what you're talking about. May I ask what kinda add-ons you were using, like 3 of mine out of 10ish worked on 4.0, I was kinda upset, they should pull a nintendo and make it all backwards compatible (I completely understand that is out of the question)
Oh Okay, I understand xD I kinda like Chrome, it's really fluent and doesn't slow down much, just not the kinda add-ons that firefox has (Or had >_>) Although, Chrome has a really nice 4chan add-on.....
It might be, there was an add-on for firefox 3.x that was called "Hide Menu-bar" or something similar that did the same thing.
