This is to debate whether or not Square Enix would actually be able to create a Final Fantasy 7 remake for the NDS, Not if they will create one. Just state if you think they can or cannot and why you think so. Please provide some information and/or fact so that you aren't just posting your opinion.

If they can port resident evil to the ds, sure...

Technically not as is, but a total revamp would be required.

I just wonder about the space required...all the fmv being cut...the game might be too big for a ds cart, and they don't do multi carts.

An unofficial NES version was made...so I'd say yes.
Whether its good or not is another thing.

File size is a big issue but i think it just might work. The graphics on the NDS are fine, just look at the 3d FF games already on DS.

They can do it, it will just take time.

They can put KH in NDS., then they can put FF VII on NDS too.

Wasn't a topic already made on this?
Anyways, All 4 Discs together range around a gigabyte, so after some downgrading and adjustments, it might be possible. Nomura said he is working on a big project that many fans requested on so you never know.

I'm very sure that they could. Sony ported it to psp for download so why not? Whether its lucratic enough for them to do so is another story. I say it could be profitable but i think that the way the ds cards are built may hinder the game is produced.

I'm probably gonna get flamed for saying this, but I'd rather see them remake Final Fantasy VI for the DS, because it was a much better game, imho.

We just talking whether they can or can't port this game, now wether they should or something like that. ::)
So do you think they can do it or not ?

its all about licensing. if nintendo can get the license to do it they can and probably would but i dont think sony is going to give that one up easily

ya, they can do it...but with all this spectation going on about a ps3 remake, i think square might go for ps3 before they ever go for nds

I was thinking that they could possibly multicart it if they also make something resembling a memory card for the GBA slot for DS or SD card for DSi that they save to so when they finish one cart they save, turn the console off and put in the next cart.

    They can. They won't.
If I'm not mistaken, it wasn't ported to the PSP at all. The PSP is capable of PS1 emulation.
