Final Fantasy Tactics (PSX), Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (GBA), Final Fantasy Tactics : The war of the Lions (PSP) and Final Fantasy Tactics A2 (NDS).... Well we all know SquareEnix released theese AWESOME games FTW. How was it? Did you manage to finish any of them? Are you a fan of this series? Which one do you find the best that accomplishes your ''tactician'' skills? Which was the easyest? What would you change in them to improve? What do you think of the gameplay? and... Would you ever stop playing them? Discuss....

Which one do you find the best that accomplishes your ''tactician'' skills? it must be FFTA2 Which was the easyest? FFT : The War of The Lions What would you change in them to improve? leveling system i guess... i like leveling system in disgaea... no limit... What do you think of the gameplay? it has a good gameplay, my favorite is FFTA2 and... Would you ever stop playing them? i stop playing them when i finish it, but if they release the new one, i'll play it again...
I love the Tactics games. I finished FF Tactics (PSX), War of the Lions (PSP), and FFTA (GBA). I've played a bit through FFTA2. I hated the addition of Judges. FFTA was a terrible system. FFTA2 was a much better use of them, but still crappy. I did like the idea of equipment based skills, since in FFT (PSX) I could completely overpower my units within the first two towns by grinding and learning awesome skills. I wish they could take the gameplay from FFTA2 and combine it with a good storyline from FFT (PSX) and add in scalable difficulty in storyline battles (something FFT, PSX severely lacked in, and storyline battles were almost one shot kills, way too easy). I'll play every Final Fantasy game that is released, it doesn't matter what it is, at least once. I'll especially playing the Tactics ones.
Haven’t played the PSX version but I agree with Tirith. I’d love new FFTA with these changes: > a less fairytale storyline - even so, I thought a2’s sucked a lot worse than the gba’s. > ditch the f**king judges - period. > lessen the mound of tedious sub-missions - the only motivation to do most of them was the items you gained, it should focus more on the story battles or at least make them a more interesting than little crappy tasks. and keep > the ability system - one of the best. > the races - it gives better variety than the jobs alone, I prefer class specific attributes. Also, they really need to increase the speed in which computer targets react and take their turns, it was really bad on psp.
Personally They could ditch the races and the judges. My luck is that both assassin and sniper class are in the same race (vieira). (which seens to be the rarest character everytime i play this game >_<) But piss me off the fact that I can't create my main hero the way I want to. (since we are always sticked with the human class). Bah.... I dont care about the stats/equipment diference of the races. But keep the jobs ._, and +1 for the fairytale story. Ditch that for once....
I just recently started playing the Remake of FF Tactics on the PSP, but you know how it goes rock.... It's a pretty good strategy game though, considering I rarely play Turn-Based Strategy games.
I love the original one to death I finished thee PSX one and I'm almost done with the PSP one I'm a HUGE Tactics fan! I've only played the PSX and PSP ones which are almost the same so...both The PSX one definently, mostly because of the skill point glitch Make Advance and Advance 2 look a little more grown up The gameplay is great, I love to level up my units for hours on end, training them in lots of different jobs I'd stop playing them for a remake of the GBA Fire Emblems, but not for anything else I love Final Fantasy a little too much (I've beaten almost every FF to date), but they are great games! I can't wait for the three XIII games to come out!
I've completed FF:Tactics TWOTL on the PSP a couple of times now. I've tried play the GBA and DS versions, but they're pretty awful.
Elaborate, why awful? The only thing i disliked in Tactics A2 (on the DS) is the long battles... Also, the dude who opened this post should definitely try Crystal Chronicles asap (at least on the DS it is fun). Final Fantasy VI on the GBA should be a must too
Great choice FF 6 is by far one of my favourite. It has the most epic story ever,imho... next one would be FF IX (9 for the PSX) then FF 7 together with FF 8 , then FF 5 and 2 ,then FF 3 ... and so on Well, try Crystal Chronicles for the DS with an emulator too... it is played more like Zelda (no more turn-based stuff),but you have a ton of things to do and items to get.It realy is nicely done.I like it alot. And if you have patience, try Final Fantasy Tactics Advance / Advance 2 If by any chance, you are considering buying a DS system, buy DS Lite because you can play Final Fantasy 6 on it via GBA slot.DSi (i own only DSi and GB Color ) doesnt ,which sucks.
Played FFTA, and beat it with all characters lvl 50. Awesome game, but i wish Thesis Hunt was a bit easier.... Also have played FFTA2, completed with all secret characters. Liked the introduction of Cannons.
Ditto on TirrithRR's comments But may I add, I hated the anthropomorphic character designs of the FFTA series & those two games feel too kiddie-fied compared to the first Final Fantasy Tactics game. I mean c'mon dude, a rabbit doesn't remotely look like a moogle, I'd bought the idea if they made a Koala as the basis for a moogle seeing as Koalas do look like moogles in my opinion. Koala bear: Square-Enix concept of what a moogle looks like See the similarity, now compare it to FFTA's concept of a moogle: That's just plain old gay if you ask me
You sir obviously mistook my use of the word "gay" for being a reference to the homosexual community, which it isn't. I used the term to refer to its use as a somewhat lose reference to something lame, stupid or other wise pointless. My point exactly, the original design is already cute & Kawaii, so what's the point in kiddie-fying it even more to the point it looks stupid?
Good point... a solid point in fact. But maybe they liked the bunny rabbits better ? I dont know,im making this up
