  1. hi, i'm new here, but i get the gist of it all. I used to have PSXfin on my PC and it all worked perfectly. But then I got a laptop for christmas and downloaded the program again, and FFIX wouldn't work after this. All of my other games did though. I have looked on other forums and they just told me to download the ppf file for it, which I've done but can't get them to patch themselves to PSX. Can anyone help me?

I have the original UK PAL version of the game.

And before anyone mentions it, I don't like using ePSXe because the images are pixelated and the video and sound are stuck at x2 and I can't change them. I even tried using Pete's plug-ins and nothing changed.

    Computer Specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6500 (2.1 GHz, 800MHz FSB)
    ATI Mobility Radion HD 4570
    3 GB DDR3 Memory

    Thanks

If you have problem while using ePSXe,
Try using PSX instead of that.

    http://emulator-zone.com/doc.php/psx/

    but still..
the ePSXe is a good emulator to play PSX games.
and I have no problem while playing FFIX on that emulator.

If you want, redownload the emulator again, the latest version is 1.7.0.
and download the latest psx plugins here.

you cant play FF on ePSXe 1.7.0, you must use 1.5.2

I'm sure I didn't have any problem while playing FF on 1.7.0.

    Oh well.

  5. I already have PSX. that's the one I'm having trouble with

But epsxe is more up to date, and is the emulator of choice...that and not many users (from my experience) use this.

THis is the first I heard of it-besides it's a relitivly small download for an emulator.

  7. but, like i said, epsxe has pixelated images an ran at double speed.

And I want to know why PSXfin worked fine on my PC but not my laptop

    Because its not configured correctly.

  9. what are the correct configurations? as long as i have a working emulator, its fine

As for the laptop, well it's a laptop.

Sure, mine can run resident evil 5 (with everything off) but some laptops don't like running games.

However, your chip is more newer than mine, mine is a 3430 of the same series..

Maybe it's vista being annoying with psxfin-I know epsxe works on my laptop perfectly :)

Its just to select plugin types, bios, memcards, graphic plugins est

    http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=how+to+setp+epsxe&meta=&aq=f&oq=

Hear is anuther emulator that dose not need plugins, just bios and memcards

    http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/

You may need d3dx9_26.dll in the main folder of pSX v1.13 emulator

  14. maybe. thanks for the help :)

and thanks Jhon. I'll check it out.

use pete's plugins with ePSXe 1.5.2

Pete's openGL2 if you have a nvidia graphics chip
pete's Directx7 if you have an ATi graphics chip
pete's directx6 if you have something else.

    Configuration for graphics plugin:

'nice' defaults (click the 'nice' button)
    resolution 800x600 (PSX native resolution)
enable frame limiter and set it to 35 frames per second.
right down at the bottom is a box labeled 'special game fixes'. Enable this and click the button to choose the fixes, enable all that are relevant to FF.

  16. That
that's actually the emulator i'm having trouble with lol
