Final Fantasy 8 freezes in Timber

Hi guys, Im playing FF8 on ePSXe and I just got to that Tv station. So the president shows up on the big screen, some peace offering and then Seifer shows up. A soldier restrains him and another one is just about to punch him in the gut... and it freezes.

Im using Peops soft driver 1.17, everything default.

Try using Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9 instead of P.E.Op.S Soft Driver 1.18, and make sure to activate the special game fixes for FF8.

 

I tried using Pete's OpenGL2 but I get an error message. Did some research, apparently my video card is too old. Also, I downloaded PSX, but can I transfer my saves, or do I have to start all over again?

 

You should be able to transfer the saves. ePSXe uses an MCR file for the Memory Card. PSX and most others use the same type of files.

Just configure the other emulator to use the same Memory Card file.

 

Okay, this has to be my computer. I load the save, get to the same point, and the scene continues for about two seconds. Seifer kicks one guard, and he and the president just stare. They blink sometimes. As soon as this happens, the little black window behind the emulator types like a dozen of lines, each with "cuebin: read sector out of range."

 

this sounds more like an extraction or downloading issue, its freezing there because ePSXe isnt able to process the next segment possibly because its not there or its currupted
try downloading it again - and switching to pete's drivers may also help.

It sure did. I realize now downloading again was the first thing I should have done, so sorry if I wasted anyone´s time.
