ive just downloaded cd 1 of final fantasy 7 and successfully extracted it to my computer using winrar. however, after mounting the image using Daemon Tools, all i get is a blank drive with no files in it. i know that the image used is the correct one becauce the drive reads FINALFANTASY7 (E:)...but it contains no files.

ive already installed the game using a separate image and have it on my computer but everytime i try running it the message i get is insert final fantasy cd 1, 2, or 3 into the cd drive. i have it mounted on the drive so this shouldnt be a problem but still no luck. can anyone please help me with this issue?

What's the extension of the image you're mounting?

the extension of the image im mounting is .cue. the game download folder also contains a .bin file

I'm not sure, but I think you should mount the .bin file, you should use the .cue for burning.

I'm not sure I'm correct, but it doesn't hurt to try.

    How big are the files?

the .cue file (the image file) is 1 KB and the .bin file is 729,918 KB

Right click the .bin file mount it, you will get a driver containing files from it.

when i right click the .bin file from the downloaded folder, theres no option for mounting. when i mount the .bin file using daemon tools, i still dont get any files.

My bets are on download is corrupted.

Not sure, though, ask a mod or an admin.

Try downloading a newer version of Daemon Tools or reinstalling it.

Or PowerISO, I use that one and I prefer it over Daemon Tools.

i had Daemon Tools Lite before and i just installed Daemon Tools Pro and still had the same problem. i just downloaded PowerISO, however, and mamaged to open the .bin file and view all of the files so thanks for that. but now how do i play the game? theres a whole bunch of folders depicting various aspects of the game itself (ie. battle, enemy1, enemy2, etc.) as well as a .CNF file and a .63 file. how do i start the game now?

you need a playstation emulator such as ePSXe

Yeah, noticed now, there's a psx emulator tutorial created by the guy above me. Check it out, it might help you.

It probably isn't corrupt if he extracted it successfully.

    i hate bin/cue crap. 2files1image. lol

convert it to ISO and play it directly instead of having to mount it.

.cue basically has file information in it which loads the tracks from the .bin file (if in same folder), this reduces a bit of the filesize.

first question, What/How are you trying to play this? I assume you've got the PC installer? if so then I cant help lol I know nothing about that.

If you download ePSXe 7.0 and use that to play youll have no problems, and then you can play other PSX games too. After DL and configure ePSXe then try just opening the files with ePSXe, if that doesnt yield results then try mounting and then running with ePSXe, if that doesnt work then extract from the bin and create a iso, using something like powerISO or MagicISO
