FF12 just went too far! since vann got cool pants but his top
    looks random.
FFX is better since i think its got a way more story line than FF12.
But Final Fantasy Should work is making there games when you but armour
on you can see it like World Of Warcraft games like that.

    Okay....

Final Fantasy X of course, it has a much better storyline than XII. I hate when the main protagonist always looks feminine, and also didn't like Vaan because of his top as well, if you have a look at his chest, you can see his ribcage. He must be anorexic :p Well, he is an poor orphan.

Tough one for me, But I have to say FFX is the winner here.

I really like the battle system in FFXII as you can identify the enemy and then try to avoid them while knowing the only cost you are paying is the experience you could be missing where as in FFX it can get really boring running into random enemies. Who the hell would purposely run into a Malboro Menace or Don Tonberry if given the choice?...

As for the levelling up system, FFX has the advantage as you not only just choose what abilities you learn but which stat you want to focus on (magic power, strength, defence, agility, etc.) and you can also later erase individual upgrade tiles and place a higher grade tile or one of a seperate stat in order to completely max out the stat.

Blitzball was an excellent minigame for FFX. You find other players throughout the FFX world and then you make the best team that the Besaid Aurochs and Spira have ever known, and thus becoming an important side-story to the game. I think the only other minigame in the FF series that has come close has got to be the card battle game in FFVIII.

As for cinematics, I think that FFX was more memorable. I, like a lot who have played it, were pretty taken with the opening FFX cinematic of the blitzball event and Sin's attack on Zanarkand, and ever since letting go of a piece of our gaming history have youtubed the cinematic again just for a revisit of this moment.

Anyway, that's my two-cents on the subject and I'm glad to give it.

I would have to say, FFXII. It was one of the funnest RPGs I've played in a long time. It's challenging, has an awesome story and the battle system just rocks! I liked FFX, but it just didn't have the magic that most Final Fantasy games have.

i couldn't stand 12, purely because of the battle system. its horible, i hope they bring back turn based fight system in the next one. altho i did like the fact that you can see whats about and its not random battles

I like them both in their own respects since they are both supposed to be different to each other. FFX works well as a turn based battle RPG just like 90% of the other FF's and FFXII had a go at trying something new for the series and, to me, it worked.

FFXII according to me. I don't know why people dislike it.

I would go for XII over X
I also liked IX which a lot of my friends didn't, never understood why

FFXII was not enjoyable at all....
I gave up half way through....the first time I have done so in all
my years of playing Final Fantasy...
I even played through X-2 a few times.....

Between the two, I'd say X by far. I want to beat FFXII, but I just can't stand how boring the fighting and everything seems to be compared to the other games.

Yeah i suppose that if you have a decent gambit system set up then you could not use any other part of the controller than the analogue stick for a long time. The other FFs had a much more hands on battle.

FFX is good but FXII is even better. I no longer have to worry about random encouters.

FFXII was simply too short for me. I've never played through a Final Fantasy game in only 100 hours. But, what I like is that the bosses are a bit harder to beat.

But even though FFX is better than FFXII.

i liked the gameplay of ffxii, reminded me mostly of world of warcraft.

i dont really like the CTB style in ffx. (except for the fact that with haste+delay buster+slowga)

i liked the gambit system since i could cast Oil on an enemy and everyone would instantly cast Firaga on it.
lol. made the game REALLY easy with that. then I would walk around until MP was restored.

I also like using reflect + cast black magic spell on the reflect in both games.

I had my gambits set up so when someone casted oil, the others would cast Firaga on the one person with reflect (usually fran)

i think they're both good games, but FFXII was too autopiloty for me. Some bosses I would just leave and make a sandwich and it would be done after I was done eating it.

edit: one thing i liked about XII was the fact that there weren't very many RETARDED minigames that plagued FFX and FFX-2.

X... I can't enjoy XII as much as X, XII doesn't have nothing interesting to do after beating final boss... And not so much after all... I spent over 2x time playing X than XII... -.-

But I can say one good thing about XII... Like aeonds Said ´´I no longer have to worry about random encouters.´´ [okay... some times crappy snake appears but... fleeing is easy]
Seeing armours would be great... it would be lovely to put cat-ear hood and white robe^^
Oh yeah... and one another stupid thing in XII, You can always use those 3 characters who you love... okay... I only like Ashe... that's why seeing armours would be great [You would cover their norm. outfit].
Oh yeah.. I jsut wonder where chance to make nice weapons and shields gone ._.

I don't see why you would flee from the snakes that appear from under the ground, they're easy to kill.

In short, although I'm a fan of cuss-filled rambling...

FFX- Had the story, the characters (eh, kind of~), the generic RPG Final Fantasy gameplay, was like Final Fantasy VII-VIII minus the interesting. It was still fun though, don't get me wrong. Sphere grid gave you options, but it was more like paths - it was still quite linear and unexciting. Looks relatively awesome compared to other games from its time.
FFXII - Lacked the story, lacked good characters with likable depth (Balthier was okay...), had untraditional gameplay that truly strayed from the Final Fantasy series, but was really-fucking-fun to play. The skill board (whatever you call it) and the gambits system was pretty damn nifty and interesting if you ask me. Is probably the best looking game on the PS2.
