The return would really be phenomenal, it isn't a fact that it would cost too much or anything of the like. It's just unnecessary. The PS3 has many great exclusives and the PS version of FF VII is on the PSN to buy. Releasing a remake of a PSX game as an exclusive would be in poor taste and could only serve to harm the reputation of the system as a whole. Like I said, they would make tons of cash. Saying money is an issue is ignorance. FFVII was just a big name, older title, that could really show the ability of the PS3 when buffed up from its original state. Tech demos are like that. It's kind of like asking if we are going to see Uncharted 2 on the NGP just because there was a tech demo for it. Hell no. It's a PS3 exclusive and Sony isn't going to make a mistake like that. You don't detract sales from one place just to try to bump them up in another. It's counter productive.
I wasn't talking about the little video thing... I read an article about Future projects...XIII-2, Agito, Type-0, XV, and a slight possibility of an FFVII all-out HD Remake
That "slight possibility" has existed since people brought it up after viewing the tech demo years ago. Been around forever in terms of the PS3's existence. It's nothing but an empty rumor that has been denied multiple times by Sony, but people keep pushing for one reason or another.
But damn, a remake would be amazing. Played both games and watched the movie.... Guess I'll move on to Fabula Nova Crystallis.....
I think they should start it now as a release title for the next console, that game itself will help shift a few million, I know 100% that I would steal money for it.
Now, I wouldn't quite call it that or even kick the idea that it is impossible.... and no...it wouldn't harm the system at all...understand this, this game was way more than a just a great game with a brilliant story-line, it was the best selling title in the entire Final Fantasy series. Also, Square-Enix has too much on their plate right now that are taking up way too much of their time to even think of just a simple/complex remake. Give it some time, wait until Final Fantasy versus 13, Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy 3 and Tactics for the iPhone, etc. Just be patient and you may or may not see it remade. I would love to see it happen, but who knows....
I would hate to bear the whole blind fanbase for another 13 years. Let this game rest >_> . . . . Square need to work over another Epic FF. Not remaking everything. Let the remakes for the handhelds or something, and let the series go.
