FFVII Disk 2 Error

OK ive tried all the different configs and nothing works, im assuming its a scratch on the disk/iso? im also assuming that if the file wasnt complete then it wouldnt run at all? anyway...

about mid way through Disk 2 of FFVII where you find the key of the ancients and activate the waterfall thing in the forgotten city, when I walk up to the middle of the waterfall to view the projection it just goes black, sound still works, and I can see the cursor where cloud should be, also the dialog boxes pop up, the final one saying 'the waterfall is just a screen for a projection, then when I walk a little further foward it flashes once so I can see the inside of the waterfall and the characters and then goes completely black, sound loops over and over and then after a while the error sound plays, like when trying to use an item that you cant. If I remember correctly there is a cinematic at that point but it just doesnt load.... HELP!

 

i assume you are using ePSXe?

try using the 1.5.2 version as it is the "Final Fantasy" emulator.

it's mostly hanging on a texture that can't be displayed correctly (same problem I had in FF9 Disc 1).

now that you mention FMV sequence, mine hung on the FMV where Zidane jumps onto the flying ship.

Try these steps in order, proceed to next one if it fails.
1. Run ePSXe 1.5.2 (default settings)
2. Lower graphic settings
3. Lower sound settings
4. Try different plugin (one change at a time is best. Don't change both plugins at the same time. Use deductive trial and error.)
5. I will post a screenshot of my plugin setup if you still can't get it to work. (Dell Inspiron E1505 Notebook, Windows Mobile Graphics Chipset [POS edition])

 

If you're using a Pete's plugin for Video, that's a good choice, so making a change to another one is a low chance. A mod finally asks for help

nah still wont work, might try downloading D2 from here, however will my memcard saves work on a NTSC (U) version from a PAL version?

 

OMG, you didn't download it from here! Betrayed! Just kidding Should work, if it doesn't, try using a converter found on google somewhere

 

lol was playing my own ripped version so maybe that was the problem lol,worked fine on the PS though.
