ff 3 help

i remember playing ff3 a long time ago...stopped about midway. anyways im trying to kill time by playing it all over again since i deleted my old sav but im stuck in the beginning in the part where im supposed to shrink myself with mini to go into a dwarven village...i use mini aimed at "all party members" and it works...except the first person in my party who doesnt shrink at all...i dont remember this being a problem a long time ago...any suggestions?

 

are you using cheats?
if you are make sure all status modifying ones are disabled.
also, make sure when you cast it that you don't cast it twice on a party member (meaning a party member that already had Mini)

because double casting will undo the Mini and restore them back to normal.

if you use Mini through the magic menu, not in battle, you can use the springs (where the guy that gives you Mini) to restore MP.

Also, using the rest of your Mini item will allow you to get more Mini items from the guy.

 

you can have a max of 5 minis.

you can also do that with another spell, can't remember which though.
