So I went to update my psp, everything moved fine and then It restarts.... and shuts off.... Now every time I turn it on, the light turns green... stays that way for about 30 seconds, then shuts off again. No screen activity, no mem card access, no nothing. It just powers on, then powers off. Now I have had bricked PSPs before, they turn on and often display an error report of some kind, A BSOD thing... but nope not this time. Complete failure. What sucks is, this time around, I don't have a Pandora batt to fix the issue. >__> so I am royally boned at the moment.

Good thing I have my handy dandy Nintendo DSi to fall back on for my portable gaming needs.

Anyone else have a psp-fail like this recently? :D

What exactly did you do? Have you tried booting into the recovery menu?

Yeah. That's what the recovery menu is for.

And I have bricked PSPs before. I just reflashed them.

Yea about that, if the recovery menu came up, then it wouldn't be a PSP fail, it would just be an oopsie. However since I lack a pandora batter, and dont have the money to replace my battery should I decide to hardmod it into a pandora, I am kinda boned, untill I can find someone with a working psp that I can use to fix my own. But from the way it is behaving I would say that the update, rather than do what it was supposed to, just wiped my flash memory and never actually updated, so I am with a software less psp.

Did you update the firmware? to which one?

It seems you got a full brick.

Hmm i think this mightve happened to mine too except it stays on longer than 30 secs..... and it just stays at a black screen

Well I know it's a full brick, its an empty psp no software lol so it doesnt even get a command to turn the screen on, It scared me because ive accidentially my psp before, but the screen always at least lit up, weather it displayed anything or not.

But yea, I was just updating to OFW 6.35. I'm kinda stranded in the boonies at the moment. So it will be a while before I can borrow a pandora from a friend and fix it. lol, sad thing was I was debating weather or not to pandora my battery before the update. Guess that answered my question, yes pandora the battery before I update, because shit like this will happen to me XD yay bad luck!

Did you try to update from CFW to a later OFW directly? If so, bad move. You have to be careful as hell when doing that, or have something on standby.

How did you try to update? Firmware EBOOT, or network?

I used a flashing method, I'd tell you exactly what one, but with my psp BORKED I don't have access to the Memory stick XD [I don't have an MS reader. :( ]
