Friend of mine got hacked-false statuses and now account deleted-all done by another friend of mine-who hates the other...

    That is un-godly low!

While an ip adress has singled them out-not much can be done...

While the person who got hacked isn't all that bright (never share passwords-even to family-though that is not the cause) the other person isn't ether (the "hacker" are preety dumb-must be net script they used).

    Anyone agaisn't hacker-in perticular-facebook one's?

(this is NOT about hackers or crackers-I know the differances but this isn't about that)

It's very rude though. Facebook is pretty much essential in modern living now. Not really but it's very convenient to stay connected with your old friends, share news, photos, and everything with facebook. So it's sucks when yours get hacked, it could mean trouble in some ways.

Facebook, essential? Lolno. I've avoided social networking sites on principle, and this hasn't caused me any harm.

At worst, having your Facebook account "hacked" is nothing more than an inconvenience.

...not when it tears family and friends apart-I thought a cool couple broke up!

But like as said-it's handy to keep friends together-but not needed.

I use it instead of msn since most of them don't have msn contacts.

...I swear if I get hacked I know who's backside to kick!

It tears family and friends apart? That's pretty melodramatic. What's to stop you from simply making a new account and reconnecting with everyone?

Hell, it may do some people good to have their friends list purged. An emphasis on transient relationships and the number of friends one has instead of the closeness of their friends isn't good.

Like I said-I assumed via status post that a couple had broken up...

And because of the social status of the group-people would start with questions-and generally start the "blame game".

I seen it before-not online thankfully...but both parties were involved.

The hacker has 900 friends-the victim had 150

And the victims number is accurate-the hacker list is like you said-not close just random adds and "oh I seen you before".

...Sure it seems pathetic to even say it can tear people apart-but remember-people are stupid and may act-I nearly lost a friend all because 1 comment was spread about-altered-and spread online.

When the person who the comment was aimed at looked at my post-you would think that he would back down as it wasn't as bad as what the...troll of a girl friend, had put it.

Of course he believed her-luckily it took that...troll, making a statment about having someone's kid (which was fake-it was a random photo from the net) and blaming them for child support that helped my mate realise he was taken for a fool.

    Well anyways...

I just hated the fact that once great friends can do this to themselves.

To a mod-please move this to rants section-just realised this doesn't really suit this section-thanks.

Women-they prefer to just yell and crap...but to resort to this is pathetic.

When one brings the BF along...and hacks instead of doing the "manly thing" it just goes on...

These 2 were best of friends-now they do crap like this...

If they hack me I tell ya-none of them would be left standing...

I do have a chainsaw right here

    *pats it

And I know where one of them live-I had enough trouble getting my facebook running at first as is-let alone being hacked and destroying my work!

The moral of the story is: The internet is serious business.

People need to learn to lighten up and stop relying on the internet so much as their only means of communication. If they want to fight, some good fisticuffs leaves less of a mess and less of a spectacle.

That's what my mates want to do.

These girls are all talk though and are holding the rest back.

All the more reason not to have one, right? I'm I got out of the highschool drama bullcrap before myspace and facebook got popular- people were retarded enough as it was back then, I can't imagine how'd they be if they could spread their idiocy to everyone regardless of where they are. Sadly, however, even at my age, there are those who start ridiculous drama through the medium of the internet.

If I did cut myself from that then except for family I'd be a hermit-msn is no-longer used-my phone never rings-I lack all the mobile numbers to contact the people I added-and due to complications from my last job I can't even visit most of my contacts in real life (non-facebook related).

But I do understand-if things were different I would have cut it out a long time ago.

    Indeed :(

In most countries hacking a website is illegal and is often punishable, if you wanted to go down that route...

I doubt they were foolhardy (or skilled) enough to hack Facebook itself. When people refer to account "hacking" like this, they usually mean that the "hackers" simply accessed the victim's account via otherwise legitimate methods.

Such as trying the password "password" or "insert birth-date here" and getting a hit.

That actually reminds me of a time I was out shopping while on vacation in Greece, I always bring my iPhone with me, so I figured I'd check if there was any unprotected wifi so I could update my email. Turns out there was, no internet on it, though. Entering the IP of the DNS server gave a login form where "admin" and "password" worked, so after about 2 minutes of being connected to their network I had access to the router that controlled their entire network. I considered messing about with it, but figured I probably couldn't pay for my goods so I ended up using that as a good excuse for being a chicken-shit. People sort of deserve it if they have that sort of "security", though.

And that's why I expoit EB's 7 day returns and unconnected wifi spots for ds wifi XD

...back on topic-I found out a few more details...

1.I knew these people were to dumb-ethier they used a premade script (type in "face book hacking" and you may see) or

2.This person is far too trusting (the victim)-she told me only her family know's her current password-however her now ex best friend may have known her current one before they stopped being friends.

3.Her brother apparently found out what ever happened was at this person's ip adress-so who knows how it was done.

All I can say now is that the victim was preety dumb to just "give" out such a password-even to family-sheesh!

But still it's a new low-before it was just general "oh your a dog" but this is over the limit in this social circle...

(Once I find out what the so called hacker say's then I'll find out what the deal was-all I know was the account was used by someone else and made rasist remarks and claimed a break up and a few mentions of "oh why did I leave you my past friend")

Hmm..hacking into a person's account is still an offence in most countries. I think it's punishable by a fine, especially if it caused any defamation of character.
