Hey guys i have a quick question can any one explain how the saves work? because you have to rewrite over the cart every time you want to play a different game so does that mean your saves are gone as well as the old game?

    sorry about the bad grammar

Um...I don't understand but here is how it works.

Start a new rom-if on auto (can be disabled...no reason why to bother) it will make a save, if you want to be at a certain point copy it and save it on a pc or something, other saves can be used as long as they have the exact same kinda name, for example...

game gta.nds.sav (sometimes without the .nds part) goes with
    game gta.nds

What won't work if they, although same game, file name differs.

    game gta.nds

    game wth.nds.sav

(if altered it would work-but may need conversion...so best just backup if you want to be at a certain spot in game-using daves from other brand carts or emulators may need conversion)

And they just rewrite over the save file-you can save...say 50 games and thier saves, playing each one would just write over the current file-like console memoery data.

He means with GBA games on the EZFlash 3 in 1. (Title of the topic).

How it works if you are using a homebrew like GBAExploader

Game is loaded into the RAM of the card.
You play the game, and it creates a save file in the portion of the memory set for save files.
You finish playing, and shut down your NDS.
Next time you run the GBAExploader homebrew, the first thing it does is copies the save file from the save memory into a file on your MicroSD card (I think it sets to GBA_Save)
Then if you load a new game to your memory card, it loads the save file with it.

This is how it works in PSRAM mode. If you use NOR mode on a game with a PSRAM mode save already, then the save files will conflict and you will lose your save files. The only real reason to use NOR mode is if you need to trick your DS into thinking you have an actual GBA game cartridge in your DS, or you want to play the GBA game on an actual GBA. Like with the bonuses available for having Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced in while playing Final Fantasy Tactics A2.
