Lately I've been wanting to play some of my favourite GBA games. That's why tommorow I'm going to order a EZ Flash 3-in-1 (from here on out lets just call it EZ.) Now, Iwent through and downloaded some of the games I will want to play when my soon-to-be ordered EZ comes. However, before it comes I'd like to be sure of a few things. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is what I'd like to know. Don't feel like I only want these answers, if theres something I should know, please go right ahead and tell me. when my EZ arrives, is it in a playable state? Could I throw some GBA roms on my cart and play? If not, how would I set it up. if this setup requires me to download anything, please provide the links so I can download it now and move it where it needs to go once it arrives. Also, on the site i'm using to buy my EZ 3-in-1, the screenshots show a cart but it says "EZ V" in big letters and in smaller letters it has "gba roms/ram/rumble" or something similiar to that....Is this the EZ 3 in 1 or a different one? Im pretty sure its the right one but my friends said it was the wrong one, I'd just like confirmation.. Thanks, APH
It would have been good if you included a link to what your harping on about and stated what "Flashcart" you use or dont use. I think the item you say is a slot 1 cart, and if you have a flashcart already, you need a ez flash 3 in 1 which is a slot 2 device. If you state your "set-up",you will get answers on exactly what you need and how to get it working. In fact, theres a similar post with some answers an inch down this forum https://www.romulation.org/forum/index.php?topic=28050.0
...If you had read that entire first page of the thread which you linked to, you would hav realised I've already been there and stillll have uestions.
I see what you mean-but in order for people to help they need to know what stuff you have, especially as a couple of carts dont need you to install gbaexploader. Also, your problem was spread over 3 threads LOL.
I think he just needs to relax and realize that everyone already told him everything he needs to do, and just sit back and wait til he gets his 3 in 1 and test things out.
Hey! I can read that post too, you know! But I agree, I think I'm ready, however theres one rumor that I'd like to get confirmation on. My friends say that gbaexploader writes the game to the NOR, and that only 1 game can be stored at a time to the NOR..Is this true, or are my friends trying to annoy me? Also, Tirith, I agree, i gotta relax...Was kinda worried tho because my friends (who i was talking to on the phone when i bought my ex flash) told me, right after I had finished ordering it, told me a bunch of things that could go wrong and I didnt spend 30 bucks to buy something that i cant use. Anyway, I should have it by Friday at the latest, so I guess we will see how it goes then. Thanks, APH
NOR can only hold one game, true. But GBAExploader can load games to PSRAM as well, which is a temporary hold just to play games. But, the CycloDS doesn't need the loader homebrew, it has a built in GBA Game Loader. NOR mode is not important, and should only be used for extremely large GBA games (too large for PSRAM) or for GBA Games that give NDS Sequels a bonus, like the GBA game Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced, which game FFTA2 a bonus if the GBA game was in the DS at when you played the NDS game.
So really, the NOR limit doesnt matter to me then because I have a CycloDS? I'm sorry, im not feeling to great cant think straight...I'll read it again whn I fell better but until then can some tell me if I'm right?
The 3 in 1 has two types of Memory, NOR and PSRAM. PSRAM is erased when you power down the device. NOR remains. There is more NOR memory than PSRAM memory. If the game is too large to load in PSRAM, then you must load it in NOR. Otherwise, loading it to PSRAM is easier and quicker. The only game I have played that required me to use NOR mode was Kingdom Hearts Chain of memories.
wow, even with a headache I still understood that..Gratz... Still little confused... So, my game .sav files save to my sd card, right? So if thats right, I really don't need to worry about NOR. What im trying to say is: I know all i need to for now, and now im just bugging you?
When in NOR mode, the save is stored on the 3 in 1. When in PSRAM mode, the save will be stored on your MicroSD
And I take it its quite obvious which mode your saving to or does that require explaining too? BTW, thanks for really fast replies
It tells you which one you are using, and I believe it always defaults to PSRAM. The CycloDS will tell you if it must use NOR.
Thanks. I think, believe it or not, im ready for this tihng to come..Thanks for your help. Dont lock this thread though until after it arrives incase I have questions. Thanks again Tirith. Post Merge: [time]1259812816[/time] Also, i have just added a poll...Please Vote!
