exFAT/NTFS 320gig HD - IS there a way to format to FAT32? (For PS2 and SMS)

Hi. I was wondering if there was a way I could format my 320gb seagate Harddrive to FAT32. Windows' formatter only lets me do EXFAT and NTFS, neither of which are PS2 compatible (I would like to play videos, music off the HD).

    Thanks for any help.

I ended up using Partition Wizard Home Edition 5.0 to turn my external drive to FAT32

I heard that It can't format it for more capacity than 32 gigs if you do that...

    Works for me...

Never tried that command prompt, but I used a program called "swissknife" or something like that.

My 500gb WD external is now fat32...thing is read speeds have taken a hit but what do you expect :p

It does need time while formatting and at first it'll seem like the drive is bricked, it's part of the process.

Well, shit, that's the other HD I have. And I know about read/write speeds being slower. I want it for teh PS2. Also, how long does it "seem bricked"?

Yeah, I don't think that would work so well, plus me likes a GUI.

So, any certain way I have to do it for making my HDs fat32?

    I have a 320gig Seageate and a 500gig Western Digital.

Just on first use, as in after the program was done with it it didn't work...waited 20 mins, unplugged it, done it again...and it worked.

And what ps2 is this-if it's a fat ps2 then it's best to get one of the hard drives made for ps2 rather than external as the read speeds are EVEN SLOWER on a ps2.

It's using usb 1.1 from what I heard, so your gonna get laggy games if using externals.

(I know my slim has no choice...lucky I can use copied game disc :p )

It's a super Slim SPCH-9K and I only want to load movies from it for SMS, and maybe retro roms for emulators.

I disc and swap all my ps2 games

Your software is PWN. It fat32'd the drive with NO BRICKING STAGE like Hypnos mentioned in 5 seconds!

    Thank you so much!

Finally got to testing the Seagate HD on the PS2 and...nothing. In FAT32, It wouldn't load/find anything. In fact, it kept swap magic from starting when inserted. Tried to put it in AFTER booting SMS, no luck. Nothing found.

    Reformatted to NTFS for now.

    Help?
