I was playing Tales of Legendia today. I got to Chapter 2 and am in the Crags. Or whatever. So, everything that can possibly go wrong has gone wrong. A lot. 1. I've got no healing character, only my melee fighter and magic user. 2. I've got no healing items other than the few things fighting monsters have given me. 3. I've got no life bottles AT ALL.. 4. I'm at a point where I can't yet go back to Werites Beacon. (It won't let me. I tried, since I wanted to quit sooner than I did and there was no save point at the start of the location I'm in.) 5. My characters are underleveled. 6. I was fully prepared and overleveled before I got to that location. Oh. My. God. It was like trying to fight the final boss at level 1. I couldn't win ONE battle (Well, I could, but half the battles were with the ice bears that kept killing Senel in like five seconds, and once Senel was dead there was no chance of winning any battles). The only good thing is that I can camp around the healing point and get into enough battles to overlevel again. But seriously. Everything has gone wrong. I'm stuck, and the only thing that can even go remotely right is if I get to the Oresoren village without dying. Blah. Need to level. I don't need help, btw.. I know what I'm doing... This ain't no 'omg wtf do i do' thread.. So... Like... Has anyone else had this happen to them?
That's never happen to me before. Not bragging or putting you down or anything, but I usually clear the Tales series without stopping by item shops much. I just mash the attack button mindlessly and kill every random monster that appears and I'll usually be overleveled/just right. Did you replenish your equipment by the way, before hitting the dungeons?
Didn't need to. I was good on item amount. And as for equipment..... I dunno. I can never find the freaking weapon shop in Werites Beacon.
Well, at least you're by a healing point. In every RPG, I always find a spot that heals you, and camp there for awhile until the amount of exp gained isn't worth the time anymore. Final Fantasy has taught me one thing...be stingy as hell with item usage. If I can't beat the boss without using any items, then I didn't grind enough. No healing character...man, that's rough.
Why is that a problem? I love that game. Yeah, the party split into two after the dumbass main character decided to rough it alone then got into trouble and the party wouldn't take him back. So I'm stuck protecting some chick that maybe casts spells maybe once a minute or so, when the battles last only like a minute and a half.
Why do developers think it is a cool idea to do split parties? FFXIII did it and you went an entire section without a Commando so you're stuck killing the mobs the hard way, with no stagger. At least they gave you a damn healer... Resonance of Fate does the same shit, I read that the party splits halfway through the game and you can't do your Triple Combo thing. They really need to scrap that whole idea for future RPGs... On a side note, why is the main character ALWAYS a dipshit? "Right now, I feel like I can take on the whole Empire myself."
Yeah... And I don't know why the main characters are dipshits. Some of them aren't, but most of them are. Hell, Legendia even makes a rationalization as to why the main character's a dumbass.
It's a problem because it just wasn't a fun game to me , i got bored after like the 1st boss, the wolf thing in the mansion or whatever, and i love tales games, but this, and Tales of Destiny 1 are two games that just suck to me, Tales of Innocence wasn't all that good either, but at least i beat ToI.
It's around the center of the town, IIRC. You need to explore the place and find it, because it matters quite a lot. As for your party's casting speed, you can change it in the strategy section to maximum TP usage or maximum offense. They'll cast as much as possible in that setting.
You got bored fighting Moses and Giet? That's the only wolf thing I've seen. Yeah, I found it.... They only had a weapon for Senel, though. The rest were weapons for Will and Chloe, and ones I remember them already having. And yeah... I've set it so Norma casts a lot more, but it didn't seem to change anything. =_= This is why I hate the AI of Tales games. It's either a stupid caster/healer who stands there doing nothing or a melee character with low defense... Or both. XD
Well whatever it was, it was like the first or second boss fight lol, just couldn't get into the game.
Spoiler It's even worse after you beat the first 'major boss' of the game, some general guy. You spend all your time revisiting old locations, delving into character storyline and worse, there's NO voice acting. Half the time I was wondering if the game had ended or if it was on the second arc.
