every HL2 mod I download results in black screen

I have probably downloaded 5 half-life 2 mods and each ends in the same result. *BLACK OUT*.


specs:
video card: intel 945GM
that's all you need to know. GHZ at 2.00 GHZ duo core.

is there no fix? I even set the -dxlevel 90 in advanced options but ends in black. oh and half-life 2 runs fine it's just the mods do not

 

Where did you obtain the game?

And what is the size of what you got, if it's a ripped game then that may be the cause.

 

came as installer. from moddb. 200-600 MB is the size of all of my mods

 

Can you even run the game normally? If not, this site is a relatively good one to let yourself know if you can run a game or not.
