Error message

    Dear all,

    I just bought myself a R4 memory card for my son's Nintendo DS lite. I downloaded some games for the card and the firmware I also added on the card.
    But if I start up the Nintendo I get an error message "? Menu". How can I solve the problem and make sure the games will work on the DS lite?

    This is going to sound like a silly question but the games you downloaded did you extract the .nds file before loading to your R4?

    The "? Menu" error means that it cannot find the firmware files on your MicroSD.

    The R4 and many of it's clones have numerous languages avialable. When you download the English firmware, it comes in a zip file containing a folder called "ENG" or "English".

    You have to extract the files from the zip file using WinZip or WinRAR. Then you have to take all the files and folders out of the ENG or English folder. Then you put those files and folders directly on your MicroSD, not in any folder.
