epsxe wont work

whenever i try and upload a game, the screen of the game just shows in the top right corner a pic of the controller with a 1 next to it ansd it says standard

whats going on and how do i fix it?

 

Adjust your graphics plugins. What game are you using and what are your plugins?

 

how d you load the game?
thats the normal start screen with the pete OpenGL 2....
seems like the rom hasnt loaded yet!

 

That's what happens when the ISO fails to load due to plugin errors. Adjusting the plugins will let it load correctly.

 

actually, i had problems with epsx too.....i found another emulator called psx1 or something like that and it works perfectly....and best of all, i can change my controls for my pc controller.....when i was using epsx i had to use the keyboard......

Change your plugin settings.

What games are you trying to play? What version of ePSXe are you using?

im trying to play all 3 personas for the PSX

 

it just shows a black screen

heres what my stuff says:

BIOs- scph1001

video- P.E.Op.S. Soft driver 1.18 with the following:
resolution and colors: window mode at 500 X 500 stretching to window size and no dithering
Framerate: i have "use FPS limit" checked off and auto detect FPS/frame skipping limit
Options: i have "scanlines disabled" under the section scanlines
and nothing else checked off

Sound: i have both ePSXe SPU core 1.7 and P.E.Op.S. DSound Audio Driver 1.9 with P.E.Op.S. selected

CDROM: i have ePSXe CDR ASPI core 1.7, ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.7 and P.E.Op.S. CDR driver 1.4
i have P.E.Op.S. CDR Driver 1.4 selected with the following:
Interface: none
Drive: [2:1:0] Drive E
Read mode: BE_1 (ATAPI SPEC 1)
catching mode: none-reads one sector
Misc: nothing is checked off in here
error handling: Try again on reading error. Retry count (1-10) with 5 typed in on the box next to it
PPF Patches: nothing is checked off in here
Subchannel reading: i have don't read subchannels(certain copy protected games wont work)

the controllers havent been touched

You should probably avoid using soft drivers.

Try Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.77 or Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9

maybe the game is not supported? if other games work then maybe it's a compatibility problem in epsxe.

 

I don't believe it's a compatibility issue. Searching on google shows others playing the Persona games on ePSXe, and some lists say that both Persona 1 and Persona 2 have 100% compatibility with ePSXe.

If I had the points, I'd download the game and set it up myself to help you out with the settings, but I currently don't. You just need to adjust your plugin settings. Try the different "Game Fixes" in your settings as well.

Also, you can try an older version of ePSXe like 1.5.2 as well.

okay here is an easy answer-download verison 1.6 of epsxe...

While the latest one has cool stuff on it (1.7-your one) it isn't 100% compatible, like gundam battle assault 2-it will only work correctly on 1.6, not 1.7.

The plugins you had were okay, except the cd plugin...

I would use the default (ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.7), cd plugin, but it depends...

Does your pc use that aspi rubbish?

Are you trying to play psx disc?
Are they roms from here?

When ever I use those aspi drivers it never loads, so check what exact cd driver it is using, prehaps it's not the graphics card, but the epsxe, or as I just said the cd plugin...
