  1. I did a search but couldn't find my problem anywhere,
I just upgraded to a new pc and ePSXe wont work on it,
When I try configuring it says something like "could not upload winasp.dll"
(I cant remember exactly what it said and cant turn my new pc on to find out right now)
I can get more details later, anyone have a clue what this sh#t is about coz I was kinda
looking forward to playing some xenogears with silky smooth nvidia graphics.

im just guessing, but I think the file you meant was winaspi.dll, in which case you need to download and install the adaptec APSI drivers and reboot.

  3. Hi Loonylion, Thanks for your reply. ;)
Ok I downloaded the aspi drivers but it still does the same thing...
Some details: The file is WNASPI32.DL when I try the configure wizard it freezes up
and sais the file cannot be loaded, however when I get the file (from the aspi driver)
and drag it onto epsxe it opens and I can configure until....CANNOT UPLOAD BIOS FROM BIOS DIRECTORY,
When I check I clearly have both scph1001 and 7500(? I think its called that) in the bios folder,
so basically its being a complete bitch and not loading anything?
    What can the problem be?!?!

the aspi drivers are an executable which you need to install. They have nothing to do with ePSXe directly, they are to do with the CD drive. As for the BIOS file, try removing 7500, I dont think thats a PSX BIOS (PS2 maybe?) and using 1001. failing that, google scph1000.bin and use that.

  5. Ok I got it running! ;D
Basically it still comes up with the cant load winasp error in the config wizard
but I just ignored it and carried on, thanks. 8)
This thread isnt over yet tho!
I need some advice on tweeking the settings for optimum performance,

    - Which video driver is best for nvidea graphics cards?
(or which is the best overall.)

    - There seems to be no game music, just sound effects, what sound driver should
I use? how should I config it?

    - It plays cd's fine but its glitchy when playing an iso, Ive got shit loads of power now
    so its not that. ??? ??? ??? ???

There is no one plugin thats best overall, it varies on a per-game basis. Pete's drivers are always a good starting point though.

Again, theres no one answer. Be aware that the ePSXe SPU core is extremely basic; that said, I think it should still do music so check your config.

This sounds like your hard disk can't supply the data fast enough. Try defragging your hard drive, and if you have multiple drives run the ISO off the fastest one, and NOT the system drive.
