ePSXe emulator & the F7 key - Research

    THEORY:
I was doing some research, and found out that the F7 key might fix lots of compatibilty problems on the ePSXe emulators, for example games like Arc the Lad III and Chrono Cross. I have yet to test this theory, but i do know that Chrono Cross does not go past the Vibration Screen on ePSXe 1.6 version, and i deleted the game I was wondering if some of u can do some experimenting if u have Chrono Cross or other games that have compatibility problems with ePSXe the results when u push the F7 key.

    RESULT:
Bah, didnt work with ver 1.6 for Chrono Cross :'(

    ANOTHER THEORY:
Prior to the release of ePSXe version 1.6, about 95% of all games run perfectly, providing you change your plugin settings depending on the game. Most games that are otherwise incompatible have .ppf patches written for them that fix certain bugs of certain games. Some compatibility relapses occurred however with the release of version 1.6. For example, Chrono Cross is fully playable to completion on ePSXe version 1.52 (providing that you hit the F7 key of your input device [keyboard] when using the teleporter), but on version 1.6 Chrono Cross has very choppy sound in most plugins, and the emulator freezes when you try starting a new game from the main menu. Another example is that Final Fantasy 9 usually freezes on many CGI sequences under ePSXe version 1.6 (and yes, the F7 key often failed as well), while on 1.52 it was yet again a simple case of just pressing F7. Although, this isn't a reason not to use version 1.6. The simplest way around many compatibility relapses in 1.6 is to just use version 1.50 or 1.52 for games that became broken in version 1.6.

    RESULT:
    WOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D

ePSXe Version 1.5.2 "WILL" run Chrono Cross!!! No more freezing on the vibration screen. Also i tested it on Final Fantasy VII, and notice a dramtic change in how the texture of the game is displayed and sound, a better improvement than ver 1.6

    CONCLUSION:
Also i found out that ver 1.5.2 is the highest compatible emulator within the ePSXe series for all Squaresoft games makers of Final Fantasy Series and other well known RPG. So if you collect RPGs, my advice is ePSXe 1.5.2 is the way to go. ;)

there is a number of programs out there, one of them named 'delta' which store your plugin configurations on a per-game basis. Delta will even detect a PSX CD being inserted and autorun ePSXe with the correct settings (providing a profile is already configured and associated with that disc). Running a configured game is simply a matter of double clicking it in delta's list. All the correct plugin settings etc are automatically applied
