Nothing new. Pyramids were built by normally paid workers, who were absolutely free. They were also granted medical support when injured on working site. Slaves were only used to transport materials to the building site.

And workers were typicallygiven a loaf of bread and a hefty supply of egyptian brew in the morning. Keep in mind a loaf of bread can keep you full for the better part of two days almost.

But it's nice to break down the old belief that slaves built them. Seems better to see it was more of a public works project. And if it got you exempt from taxes, that was beyond worth it in ancient times so I can't blame them for dropping everything and heading to the pyramids.

So the exodus part of the bible maybe a hoax right?

To appease the very Atheistic, the Bible per se may just be a hoax period.

But yeah, though it contains mostly "outlandish" accounts of historic facts that may or may not be true, but what's surprising is that other ethnic cultural stories do share similar themes & elements, like a dragon or serpent in the sky, of a great flood & the cycle of the destruction & revival of the Earth.

Some other parts of the bible were disproved by happenings in Egypt. Even the river turning red, toads and some other stuff.
