I'm Dutch and there are a lot members that are Dutch to. Can we please speak Dutch on Romulation because I relly love this site ?
Bedankt , dat wist ik niet. Maar ik wil nog steeds Nederlands praten Translation Thanks , I dont now that. But i still want to speak Dutch.
As Kiekoes said, IF you post in another language you should put an English translation. Now here is the end of it, If you post 100 times and 99 of them are in Dutch, you'll be screwed. http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=4312.0 ^^ Read this for a long forum life.
We don't allow it because a majority of the staff doesn't understand Dutch and it's impossible for us to tell what you're saying. This leads to situations where people can make comments that are incredibly offensive and we'll never pick up on it because we don't understand a word of it. I'm willing to let the Dutch with English translations slip however.
I'm still not sure I like it even when a translation is provided, we have no way of knowing whether or not the translation is accurate, we'd have to use a translation site and that'd just be time consuming.
In all honesty, the first rule is English only. That just makes it less of a hassle. If additional languages were to be implemented, then the site would end up swarmed. It's not just the rude comments one could make in a foreign language, it actually could become a security issue. Most people here are at least bi-lingual, if not more. And even those born and raised in outside Providences from the USA can type English better than a lot of the Americans we have here and now.
Quoting the actual forum rules per se... Actually, the "spoken & not written/established" you can speak in another language so long as you provide an adequate English translation was a result of a few people, including myself when I started out , who communicated with other forumers using another language besides English. The most common "foreign languages" that were being used back then were French, Spanish & Filipino. Also, if I recall correctly, there was an instance where somebody actually made a rude or inappropriate comment to another forumer in an argument using a foreign language that seph had to add the "This is an English speaking forum" rule to the set of forum rules.
Update on the whole matter: I have decided to make it clear that people who will be posting on our "Filipino" thread will no longer be allowed to use Filipino when talking on said thread. I have posted a reminder on the thread to everyone on this & any & all offenders (be they first time & otherwise I myself included) will be reported to RomUlation's staff for the appropriate warning/s from you guys.
I'm sure it would be okay if you included the English translation of it in the same post. A translator's right here: http://translate.google.com/translate_t?hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=8SE&rls=org.mozilla:en-USfficial&q=free%20blog%20creator&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wT#auto|en| ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Ik ben ervan overtuigd dat het goed zou zijn als je opgenomen in het Engels aangegeven in dezelfde post.
